What the heck happened to me?
I have come to the horrible, horrible realization that I haven't gamed in a couple of months. Seriously!? A couple of months!? I haven't gone this long without touching a controller since I was 5 years old. I stopped playing Turok right at the end of the game, I played Twilight Princess through the first dungeon and stopped, and Kingdom Hearts didn't interest me as much as I always thought it would. All of these games are unintentionally unfinished (save KH *shudders*).
I remember the days where I would come home from school or work or whatever I was doing, and I would just play games. Now that I've graduated from college, I figured I'd have more time than ever to game. And I do...but I don't game. What's the deal!? Maybe I've lost it. Maybe I have other interests that outway gaming. Maybe I'm just retarded. But seriously, there are probably a hundred games that I would love to play (literally!), but I know I will never get to. Not because I don't have the time, but because I've changed. I guess it's just what happens when you have many responsibilities.

Blu-Ray's deadly blow to the head of HD-DVD
I just read the article about Best Buy and Netflix supporting Blu-Ray, and I wanted to give my thoughts. Here's the article: Link to Article
Since the start of the new format war I believed that Blu-Ray was going to be the dominant format. The sole reason for my belief was the PS3's ability to get a Blu-Ray player into many homes that didn't even care about owning a Blu-Ray player. The reason most people bought their PS3s were for the games - I know that's why I bought mine. Likewise, most of the people who bought 360s bought them for the same reason.
The difference in the format war was the PS3 providing built-in, next-gen movie playing ablility, while 360 owners needed to drop an extra $140 for the HD drive. So, because of the easy access that all PS3 owners had to next-gen movies, Blu-Ray had a big advantage.
Is the PS3 the only reason for HD-DVDs decline? Not entirely, but it has delivered a deadly blow. Many major production companies, such as Paramount and Disney, have dropped their exclusitivy with HD-DVD, and now, with Best Buy and Netflix promoting Blu-Ray, I expect to see HD soon go the way of Betamax.- Posted Feb 12, 2008 12:27 pm GMT

Kingdom (of broken) Hearts
My brother got me KH 1 and 2 for Christmas, which made me very happy. I've always wanted to play these games, but I never had a PS2, so now that I have a PS3 it's time to catch up on all the games I missed. I popped in KH and started playing, and after a couple sessions of an hour or two over the course of a week, I decided I hated this game. Here's why:
Battles are basically hack-n-slash and happen way too often. I'm fine with lots of battle, but when it's the same exact battle against the same enemies over and over again, it gets a little dull. Also, there were way too many fetch quests - which, personally, made me want to rip my eyes from my own sockets out of boredom and frustration. AND WHAT'S WITH THE CAMERA! It's horrible. Half the time it's facing the direction I DON'T want it facing, and once I correct it, it just makes it's way back to the same spot. This, in combination with the terrible platforming, is too much to bear.

Still, the story does intrigue me slightly, and I'd like to be able to finish the game, but I think my lack of interest has taken over. I don't think I'll be beating this game any time soon.
