Goodbye TV
So I'm suffering from dead arms after having to lift (not on my own though), in the past three days, one TV downstairs, one TV upstairs, and one TV into the back garden for collection. We had finally given up on our old Sony TV. I believe we've had it for twenty years, it's use had got to the point the on/off button didn't work well, it had been taken out, and if it were switched on at the mains then it was turned on. But lately, and the reason why we disposed the TV, was that about 25% of the screen was scanline-free and was stretched, so the image looked odd to say the least. The replacement is a Toshiba, and is actually pretty old as well, but is bigger than I thought, bigger than the old TV which was quite big - it was once the family TV. A problem I've had with the Toshiba is that when connecting a games console to it, I'm not sure if there are missing sound channels or whatnot, but some of the sound is MIA at times for the NES and SNES, whereas PS2 has been fine since we've connected that up via SCART.
Games I been playing lately:
Black & White (PC) - The annual PC game I play. I loathe the interface I might start again, and spend an hour sorting the controls out. Graphics seem to be a pain, with landscapes changing shape and I need to zoom close to see anything.
Lufia II (SNES) - After overcoming the initial disappointment there's no items for finding in the town, am really loving the mix of puzzles - some had me well stumped! Thankfully in the dungeons there's no random encounters.
Punch Out! (NES) - Okay, so I've resorted to an emu to train against Super Macho Man, and now I'm ready for the title shot on my NES - shame we've the sound problems with the new (old) TV.
Tengai (PS2) - How does one stay motivated to play a shmup with infinite continues and high-score-resuming on continue? Despite the samurai settings, this title really has struggled to stand out.
Devil May Cry (PS2) - Camera angles are nasty, considering moves are pulled off in relation to character, it really is hell. The rising costs of goods only means more fighting, and the fighting, well, just isn't that great.

My First Proper Job
So I've finally started work, it all happened rather quickly - I didn't have a clue about the job I was going to undertake, but at least I have made this step. Am currently in training - have had to learn a LOT these couple of weeks! It's been okay, find myself falling asleep like during university lectures a bit. As we have and soon will be taking live calls it's daunting for me - I guess it's better to face my fear of the phone sooner rather than later.
Over these few weeks I had been playing Donkey Kong 64 (N64) but I read that I have to play this arcade game to progress, not just once but twice through! I find it hard, for sure. As for Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (PS2) I've managed to come off it, which is good (since some of what happens in the game drives me insane!). Played some Ridge Racer (PS) - somewhat of an annoyance is that I have to save over my file losing my progress if I want option of all cars since I let the shooting game pass me by first time.

Been playing numerous beat-em-ups as well! Final Fight 2 (SNES) was not much of a step forward from the first FF, despite the 2-player mode. It's also not too hard, and the same can be said about Final Fight 3 (SNES), though this is easily my fave of the SNES FF games. Rival Turf! (SNES) is a poor beat-em-up, it's nowhere near as fun as any of the FF or SOR games. Streets of Rage (GEN) I really liked. Have played the second SOR through twice but I didn't seem to like it as much as the first. I might feel differently after completing it many more times though.
Oh yeh, Nike to buy Umbro. Let's hope I am still able to get a pair of football boots which can actually support my wide frog feet in the future...
