Morning Comes During A Bad Week
Sorry for the delay of this blog, I've just received some of the worst news and it's been crazy at home as we've got so many relations coming over. My Mum's seriously ill and it's been a rough couple of days.
Dexter - 2x08: Morning Comes

Best episode of the season? Well it's certainly a contender.
- Lila finally realised that even she couldn't hold onto Dexter.
- Deb and Lundy are getting their naughty on.
- Doakes found the slide collection - Yikes.
- Dexter needs to watch himself around Lundy big time.
Review for this episode is up now. Resistance Is Futile has already aired and a review will come soon.
Spooks: Code 9 - 1x04

Better, still not brilliant but better.
- Liked Rachel doing the undercover routine this week.
- The ending was pretty cool, though Kylie and Jez do seem to be paired with each other a lot.
- Charlie's still being secretive with the others.
- Rob's story is pretty interesting.
Episode 5 has already aired and been repeated and will be repeated tomorrow as well.
Grey's Anatomy - 4x14: The Becoming

I really dug this episode. Very poignant for this show as well.
- Good gay related storyline with the 2 soldiers.
- However it serves as a cautionary tale for Meredith which even her shrink picked up on.
- Cristina generated sympathy when Burke's award snubbed. Singing "Like A Virgin" has never sounded so sad.
Private Practice - 1x09: In Which Dell Finds His Fight

Good episode, poor finale.
- Dell's grandfather plot was ok but I still don't care for him.
- Sam and Naomi need to figure out where they're going.
- Is it wrong to like Cooper and Charlotte? Addison and Pete are another teething problem.
Life On Mars - 2x03/2x04

Brilliant set of episodes.
- Ray suffered from PTSD. 11 episodes and now I feel for him?
- I liked that Sam was right about the bomber.
- Annie certainly knows how to work a whip.
- Liked getting more Sam family related stuff. Heather can come back.
Reviews for these episodes are up now.
Takin Over The Asylum - 1x03/1x04: You Always Hurt The One You Love/Fool On The Hill
I'm really enjoying this show.
- Campbell's enthusiasm to kickstart his radio career is great.
- Eddie's grandmother is somewhat annoying but I feel for her.
- Rosalee is shaping up to be the best character of the series.
- Fergus' death genuinely shocked me.
The last two episodes air Saturday at 10pm on BBC4.
Series Preview
Secret Diary Of A Call Girl - Season 2

Starring: Billie Piper, Iddo Goldberg, Callum Blue, Ashley Madekwe.
Start Date: Thursdays 10pm on ITV2 from Semptember 11th.
Synopsis: Season 2 of the hit series sees a lot of changes. With Ben taking a leave of absence, Belle not only goes solo as an escort but even gets a protege in the shape of Bambi. Plus Belle finds herself falling for a doctor by the name of Alex.
Yay/Nay: Yay. The first season was light fun and this season looks similar in tone. The addition of some new characters can only help to open up facets for Belle as a character. Plus the first two episodes air as a double bill.

The Week In Who

- Season 3 of Torchwood will boast the likes of Paul Copley as Clem, Peter Capaldi as Mr Frosbisher and Liz May Bryce as Johnson.
- In an interview with SFX magazine, producer Nikki Smith didn't deny the rumour of David Tennant may be appearing in The Sarah Jane Adventures. Am I the only who just discovered this?
- Joss Whedon wants to give Russell T.Davies a 'big wet sloppy'. Um, go Joss. Check out SFX for that surprise moment.
- Eve Myles' character in Merlin is called Mary Collins and she appears in the first episode. Some spoilers regarding her character are in SFX.

19: 3x07: Timing And Space

Ruth and Bettina take a vacation and Nate has one of the weirdest dreams going. On this show that's saying a lot.

That Night A Forest Grew, DW Fanfiction, Top 25 SFU Episodes
Dexter - 2x07: That Night A Forest Grew

Good but easily the weakest episode of the season.
- Reckless Dexter is not a good Dexter. Getting Doakes fired has got to come back to haunt him.
- Releasing a manifesto as the BHB should as well.
- I liked that Deb dumped Gabe in a mature manner. Still uncertain about her and Lundy.
- Lila's officially nuts and Dexter caught her out too.
- Loved Rita standing up to Gail and kicking her out.
Review for this episode is up now. Morning Comes airs tonight at 10pm on FXUK.
Spooks: Code 9 - 1x03

Disjointed and dare I say rather boring too?
- Nothing to do with the actors but I'm having a hard time warming to Kylie and Jez as characters and they were pretty vocal here.
- Good performance from Jody Latham as Dylan but the Zero reveal was obvious.
- I kinda have a soft spot for Vik and Rob's resentment of Charlie might not be entirely unjustified.
- Sarah improved as a character this week and the Hannah mystery is deliberately keeping Charlie and Rachel in each other's orbit.
Episode 4 airs tonight 9pm on BBC3.
Grey's Anatomy - 4x13: Piece Of My Heart

One of the best episodes but also cheesy. Then again this is Grey's Anatomy.
- Addison's different interactions with each other was fun. She even hugged Meredith.
- OK so Erica and Callie are like lovers now? I can deal with that.
- Meredith is still not annoying me. Derek's his usual boring self though.
Private Practice - 1x08: In Which Cooper Finds A Port In His Storm

OK, I'll admit this show is getting better. This was fun at least.
- Sam and Naomi worked well as a team during the convent incident.
- Cooper and Charlotte got their naughty on after Violet refused to talk to him.
- More Pete/Addison teasing. And Joy Lauren from Desperate Housewives played another pregnant teen.
Life On Mars - 2x01/2x02

Brilliant set of episodes here. Season 2 opens up terrifically.
- Marc Warren is brilliant as future baddie Tony.
- So why are Hyde having Sam undercover?
- Ray can now add 'racist' to his list of demeaning qualities.
- Annie threatened to shoot Gene. Is it wrong that I found that cool?
Reviews for these episodes are up now. More reviews to follow next week.
Takin Over The Asylum - 1x01/1x02: Hey Jude/Fly Like An Eagle
BBC4 started with repeats with this last night. Must not review (x100).
- David Tennant and Ken Stott are fantastic in their respective roles as Campbell and Ed.
- Loved the music selection throughout, some inspired choices.
- Some sales seminars are downrigh cringe inducing.
- It was obvious that Campbell acted up so he wouldn't have to go to Perth.
Episodes 3 and 4 You Always Hurt The One You Love and Fool On The Hill are repeated next Saturday at 10pm on BBC4.

So Nicole got the boot from BB9 with 94% of the votes. I'll be glad to see the back of her but please tell me that both Mikey and Mohammad are next for the chop. I can't stand the former's moaning and the latter is worse than useless. Who Do You Think You Are saw Boris Johnson under the spotlight and I've been enjoying Paramount's airing of Grumpy Old Holidays/Christmas series and The Kevin Bishop Show delivered a decent enough episode. The Nominees aired on FX on Thursday and if you enjoyed Summer Heights High, check it out. Chris Lilley definitely isn't a one trick pony.
TV Spoilers

- Cynthia Nixon has signed on to play performance artist Penny Arcade in ITV's An Englishman In New York, the sequel to The Naked Civil Servant. John Hurt will reprise the role of Quentin Crisp. So looking forward to this. She's my fave SATC actress.
- Nip/Tuck will end in 2011. The remaining eight episodes of Season 5 will air in 2009, while Season 6, comprising of 19 episodes will air in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
- Stargate Atlantis has been cancelled by Sci-Fi after five seasons. However a new Stargate spin-off is in the works.
- Mitch Pileggi will guest star in an episode of Brothers And Sisters' third season. His character is a partner at Kevin's law firm.
Series Previews
90210

Starring: Shanea Grimes, AnnaLynne McCord, Adam Gregory, Lori Loughlin, Carlos Mendez
Start Date: Tuesdays 9pm, September 2nd on CW.
Synopis: It's a new generation at the most famous high school on American TV and this lot seem to be no different to their predecessors. Look out for original characters Kelly and Brenda to stir trouble.
Yay/Nay: I've seen nothing in the trailers that sets this apart from any other teen show. It looks suitably cheesy and I can't see it lasting long.

True Blood

Starring: Anna Paquin, Ryan Kwayten, Stephen Moyer, Rutina Wesley, Alex Gray, Jim Parrack.
Start Date: Sundays 9pm, September 7th on HBO.
Synopis: In an ordinary town, humans and vampires attempt to co-exist with each other. The arrival of Bill sparks interest among the townfolk, particularly barmaid Sookie who also happens to be able to read other people's minds.
Yay/Nay: Unlike Moonlight and Blood Ties, there's something genuinely character driven and different about this series. Alan Ball is a master of good writing and I hope that unlike David Milch and Michael Patrick King that this show will do wonders. Only this and Dollhouse are truly must see ones for me.

Doctor Who Fanfiction - Requiem For The Master

I got this done quicker than I thought. It's an epilogue to Last Of The Time Lords and a prelude to Journey's End in a way. Let's say The Master and Lucy have a bigger hindrance than The Doctor to be dealing with.

Dex, Lies And Videotape, DW Fanfiction Pt1 and 2 Songs
First of all, a personal note. On September 15th I'm starting my Arts with Creative Writing course at NUIG on September 15th and it can't come quick enough. I have to register online on August 21st so that should be fun. Also one of my aunts is coming over two weeks before college time. She's not one of my favourites but she's okay. Just not easy to get a long. She's not mean just kind of strange.
Dexter - 2x06: Dex, Lies And Videotape

Another strong episode. This season isn't suffering from difficult second album syndrome.
- Lila finally got her claws into Dexter. He slept with her.
- Rita dumped Dexter twice in this episode. Gail was thrilled with this development.
- Doakes is getting out of control and even Maria is worried.
- Gabe knows that Deb has a crush on Lundy.
- Dexter killed his copycat and we got more Harry/Laura flashbacks.
Review for this episode is up now. That Night A Forest Grew airs tonight 10pm on FXUK.
Spooks: Code 9 - 1x01/1x02

Um it's like Torchwood meets Skins. It's not that bad but does need ironing out.
- I liked Hannah before she got killed off. Joanne Froggatt is one of the best actresses on UK TV.
- Kylie and Jez worry me as characters. I don't think they're moles but the both of them are definitely loose cannons so to speak.
- Rachel and Charlie are blatantly being set up as a couple. I happen to like them. Charlie's more interesting than he looks and Rachel seems pretty competent.
- Vik and Rob were pretty underdeveloped out of the two episodes and that Sarah Yates is seriously irritating.
- Ditch the Britannia thing. We get it already.
Episode 3 airs tonight 9pm on BBC3.
Grey's Anatomy - 4x12: Where The Wild Things Are

OTT episode like this show effortlessly does but entertaining.
- Derek and Rose are a boring couple. I think Derek has this ability to make anyone he's interested in boring.
- Meredith, Alex, Cristina and Izzie were at their competitive worst. At least Meredith won and this plot won't get dragged out.
- Callie and Erica getting a little too close with each other. Yes I'm making assumptions.
Private Practice - 1x07: In Which Sam Gets Taken For A Ride

Good episode. The show is improving.
- There were 3 pregnancies in this episode. Sam get taken hostage by one of them was the most interesting.
- The writers are teasing the Addison/Pete thing.
- Sam/Naomi slept with each other at the end of the episode. Cooper admitted to Violet that he loved her.
Double Addison next week as she's in both Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.
Life On Mars - 1x05-1x08

I actually managed to finish S1 quicker than I expected to. Oh it was brilliant.
- An episode surrounding football hooligans is a no-go for me but I enjoyed Episode 5.
- We saw some vulnerable moments with Annie, Sam and Gene in Episode 6.
- I wanted to beat up Ray in Episode 7.
- Loved Episode 8. Nice use of Sam's family and Annie of course.
I'll start Season 2 next week. I was watching The Real Life On Mars on BBC4 last night and there's a certain plot I'm going to have difficulty with - office racism with the character Viv.

I just caught the much publicised Patsy Kensit episode of Who Do You Think You Are and it was genuinely a decent episode. I also have to admit to liking Maestro as well. After a few episodes I have to admit that The Kevin Bishop Show is beginning to wane a little. Some of the jokes are too predictable. Has anyone else ever seen Chelsea Lately on E? It's one of the trashiest shows on TV but weirdly watchable as well. Bonekickers had a decent finale and The X Factor is dominating the press once again.
Buffy/Angel Comic Spoilers

- Issue 20 has the title of After These Messages We'll Be Right Back. It's going to take an idea from the Animated Series and will be released in November.
- After The Fall will be titled Aftermath from Issue 17. Something major is going to happen in Issue 16. Issue 11 meanwhile is released on Agust 27th.
Series Preview
Prison Break - Season 4

Starring: Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell
Start Date: Mondays 9pm on FOX from September 1st. Will air around the same time on Sky One.
Synopsis: Michael's out of Sona and he's baying for blood. He wants to avenge the death of Sarah and nothing is going to get in his way upon doing that. Elsewhere he's got people hot on his trail and new characters Wyatt and Roland will pose problems for him. Plus someone is gonna die in the opener.
Yay/Nay: I quite enjoyed S3 so I'm gonna be positive that this is going to be a good season. I also heard that Sarah is coming back as well. It'll be interesting to see them explain that one.

DW fanfiction - Kidnapped

Yes I've stepped into the murky world of writing fanfiction after reading a lot of the material on Whofic and the Prydonian. My stuff is of the not tawdry sort and the first story is largely Doctor/Master centric. It's my own unique take on Last Of The Time Lords. Let me know what you think. I have at least three more stories in the next couple of weeks.

Top 50 Angel Episodes Part 10
1: 5x12: You're Welcome

I cried when Cordy bit the big one in this episode. Brilliant way to celebrate 100 episodes.
2: 4x15: Orpheus

Faith vs. Angelus, Willow vs. Cordy. Yep this one was extremely satisfying.
3: 2x15: Reprise

A dark episode for Angel and a happy for Darla in a way.
4: 3x09: Lullaby

Darla brings Connor into the world by taking herself out of it.
5: 1x18: Five By Five

Faith wreaks a lot of havoc when she's hired by Wolfram And Hart.
