  Re-Born as illuminati_777!

  Hi Gamespot. I've been luke-warm about GS for a while now, but I feel like there's a new scene at GS that isn't what it used to be, but is still quite a good place for games and such. So, I want to get back into this site, but I need a fresh start.

  So, I'm now going under the user name illuminati_777 and will post there from now on. Thanks to everyone who has supported me or watched my videos, and I look forward to expanded interactions with you all over at the new user name.

  Please watch me or add me as a friend if I don't get to you first - I'll try to get everyone but you never know.

  New Video Blog???

  OK, have you heard the news? Josh Larson, now forever to be known as the man who ruined Gamespot, has been fired! The gods rejoyce. That bit of news, coupled with the fact that I keep coming back to Gamespot not for the official content but for the user community, has inspired me to *maybe* come back here and contribute to what remains of the soul of Gamespot.

  I feel a desire to do Video Blogs, maybe. I had fun making this potential intro for them, and I'd like to know what people think. If there's interest then I'll probably start Video Blogging, but I want to be sure I'm not just making videos for myself. Anwyay, hope you all enjoy the following Vid, and I hope it's the start of a new era here at the old GS (at least until Giant Bomb launches for Real this summer).

  Giant Bomb hits CNet Corporate

  Dear Friends, sorry I haven't been around the last 2 months. As I'm sure you've seen, GS has been losing more and more of the "core crew" that made the site great in the first place. Luminaries like Alex and Ryan are now gone, and only a skeleton group remain who have experience and credentials. And I support them - but the GS I knew and loved is over.

  Especially after this Giant Bomb hit CNet Corporate where it hurts. Jeff & Ryan have started up a new, serious game site at http://www.giantbomb.com/ to thwart the efforts of the money-criminals at sellout news organizations like CNet with real games journalism - something GS is now unable to do because CNet Corp calls the shots, as was made plane to all by Jeff "The Man" Gerstman's unjust firing.

  So I hope to see Jeff's new site become a new place for a Games community. My time here at GS is over - I'll still come around but I'm not going to contribute to this site anymore. The soul is gone and I can see the writing on the wall. Also, their user movie video quality really is pretty bad. The framerate issue I had with my movies early on is indeed GS' poor flash user movie player.

  They look much better on my page at Gametrailers.com, where you can find my new movies when I post them from now on. http://blackmagick.gametrailers.com/gamepad/index.php I have to get a new video capture setup to continue my Hitman series, but I will in time.

  It's been a good run GS - so long, and I hope to see you at GiantBomb.com! Viva La Jeff!
