    Finally, I have all three!

On Wednesday, I will be purchasing an xbox360. My paycheck will be coming in the mail, and I can't wait! I currently only have the funds for an arcade, but I plan on upgrading the memory later. I know it would probably be less if I just bought the regular, but I'm impatient. I bought the Wii originally for Umbrella Chronicles last summer around this time (I'm a RE freak). Then I kinda just started playing it for SSBB. Then, for Xmas, I got a PS3 which meant just one acronym......MGS4! I play MGO and still have a great time with it. MY characters got tsuchinoko though lol. And now....the 360.

This picture kinda scares me though. They went through the trouble of putting out the cords to hook up to the TV, but does this come with the power cord lol?

Even though my paycheck hasn't come in yet, I have already pre-ordered Dead Rising. Yes, I know I have CTYD, but that's like arguing "Why get any other PS2 games? You have DARK ANGEL!" I already know the story, about the gameplay, pretty much everything about this game. So why do I buy it? The same reason I got MGS4, playing the game! Of course once you beat it there's nothing new, but it's still fun to play over again! That's why I never rent games.

Once I get my money, I'll be buying L4D. Which also raises the issue of Xbox Live. No I'm not worried about the like, $5 a month, but my room is so far away from our internet router, and we use wireless. I really don't feel like spending $100 for an xbox wireless router, especially since the xbox 360's life is about half over. Also, with PS3, the online is free, AND some games, the PLAYER hosts the server, like Resident Evil 5. But for the xbox, if Xbox Live goes down, EVERYTHING goes down.

    Regardless, I canot WAIT!!!

    It's about time...

So, this Christmas, I got a Playstation 3. I always feel behind when it comes to video game consoles. I've had a Wii for a while now, but that's not what most would think of when they hear "next generation". Anyways, this will be a review of the PS3 as well as some of the games I picked up.

The Playstation 3 works a lot like the PSP, which is nice seeing as how I've had one for about 2 years. I don't really understand the pricing, seeing as how the graphics are only a little better than the 360 if at all. Anway, I think it's a great system. Now, the games.

First off, Metal Gear Solid. If you are an Xbox Fanboy who's never played this game and who trys to put it down by saying things like "It's just an interactive movie" then just stop reading. I can't tell you how many times I've heard that, it's making me sick. While I agree with Yahtzee's remarks about how Kojima is brilliant at making hour-long cutscenes that have thousands of words spoken, yet no meaning behind them, I also agree with what he said about the gameplay. The action is amazing. That can also be the bad thing though, seeing as how it's a stealth-based series. Due to the constant battle, on my first playthrough, I couldn't tell when the hell I had an alert, because sneaking wasn't really stressed that much. The storyline (once you get passed all the stuff that has nothing to do with ANYTHING) is amazing. Definitelty one of the BEST storys I've ever seen in a game. Big Boss is as cool as always, Vamp as wierd, Naomi as b!tchy Raiden as wannabe-snakey, Meryl as self-pity....y..... Solid Snake as rediculously modest ("Never was a hero...." WHATS THAT SH*T?), and Otacon as good with women as Chris Griffon. With all that said though, ALL of the characters were well done.

Silent Hill 5. While I don't think it's worth $60, I bought it anyway, because I love Silent Hill/Resident Evil. I thought the storyline was great, though MANY, MAAANY elements were borrowed from the movie (nurses, the paint-peeling effect, the hotel, etc). Also I thought that Pyramid Head's presence in the game was only to please the fans, seeing as how he appears for two seconds, and that's pretty much it. I like all of the SH games because it makes you think. There are really 3 types of ways you can go about thinking about them. One, your character is crazy, and he's killing real people, or he/she doesn't realize the TRUE situation. Two, it's all a dream (or nightmare), none of it's really happening. Or three, ALL of the events are real. There's wierd cults, little kids, monsters, etc. SPOILERS***** The first option is really what SH5 made me believe. Alex Shepherd killed his brother basically, and that means he's crazy seeing as how he's been chasing his brother through the whole game until he stops at the end and goes "Wait a minute........Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." Anway I thought it was still a great game, tied with SH3 for me.

Resistance 2. I've been playing the online portion mainly, and it's pretty fun, although it just needs vehicles to be EXACTLY like Halo. Also I think the effects are kinda wierd, like the water.... Anyway, it's a very entertaining game, nothing else really to say.

Quantum of Solace has got to be one of the most dissappointing games I have EVER played. After hearing remarks about it, such as "best 007 game since Goldeneye", I was pretty excited. Horrible graphics, half-finished textures (Opera House), and widely UNUSED game mechanics are all that's in store. I was very bummed out, but whatever...

Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 is VERY fun. I have yet to play online, but the story mode is very good. I hear a lot about how it's not fun, because it's just a repeat of the first one. However, seeing as how I've never actually played the first one, I like it.

Fallout 3 is an AMAZINGLY fun game. From all the wonders of having a basically do-what-you-want world to great graphics, this game is definitely one of those rarely-unique games. While I don't understand why Liam Nieson was cast for it, the voice acting in this game is very nice, which makes the roleplay experience very fun. The combat system is pretty cool as well (making the game a little to easy though IMO), seeing as the V.A.T.S. system is implemented. Overall, it's a great game.

The Playstation 3 was everything I hoped for and more with all the great games for it. I just hope it can continue to keep up with the rediculously popular Halo...erm.....360. Sorry I just REALLY don't understand why Halo is that great. Sure, the gameplay is fun, but story? IS there one? Oh well, no use for me to rant about it, for, as Yahtzee says, Halo is already more popular than God.

The Metal Gear Solid Essential Collection

Well I just got the MGS collection a while ago. It's great so far. The first game is cool, but it's the original. I always thought they should do a Twin Snakes for PS2..... >.>

Anway, I can't save on the frist one . The second one is good, but I really DON'T like the fixed camera.... kinda gets me mad...... I do like Raiden's Grey Fox outfit however.

The third one, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, is one of the best games I have ever played. GREAT controllable camera, great graphics, AMAZING storyline, and EXTREMELY likeable characters. All in all, just getting MGS 3 in the pack would have been worth it.

Anyway, the coolest and most surprising thing about this pack is that it is only $30. For just $30, you get Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. If you haven't already gotten MGS 3, then this pack is definetly worth it!!!
