Why do I play video games? 2 reasons

Its a passion:
Gaming is in my blood. Its a medium that makes me happy, scared, amped up, crazy, calm and many more emotions.

Form of escapism:
So the worlds on the brink of destruction, what do i do? i sit in my room, turn on the PS3 and play a game. Instantly I forget about my problems and can finally relax for a few hours after an exam or a fight with the parents.

    The Stooge Returns

Wow haven't made a blog in ages.  So, how is everyone? I have been.. well glued to my PS3 and a bit of the PC. November was and still is a crazy month, Assignments and new release games every week challenged me. Ok it started with COD: WAW. Now that was an amazing game, Campaign perfect, Multiplayer pretty much the same as Modern Warfare.

Then I was hit with assignments from English, Modern History, IPT and threats of tests along the horizon, What a great feeling. Trying desperately to manage school and gaming coupled with some going out time i succeeded luckily. Only went out with a mate so he could buy Lich King and i FINALLY found Iron Man on Blu-Ray.

Exactly a week after Cod: WAW it was strike day and because of my mate showing off Lich King i bought it myself. And i was addicted once again (Curse you Blizzard!)
Playing Lich King i watched online as Americans cheered for Resistance 2 and the 9.0 reviews spewing all over the net. Jealously took over

In between anticipating Resistance 2 i went out with my mates to watch Quantum of Solace. One word, Disappointing. Action was really well done but the failure to deliver a compelling story really made me want to watch Casino Royale again.

Finally November 27th had arrived. Unfortunately i had work that day so my plan was to Pick up Resistance 2, go to work then play when i came back. As a walked into my local GAME i took out my preorder receipt and asked for my copy only to be told "we havn't got it for some reason". I had the face saying WTF and the guy just said "yeh i kno, if you can get to another store you could pick it up". I told him about work and i was in a rush so i said ill come tomorrow but call before hand to see if it had arrived.

Fast forward about 24 hours and i was told once again it had not arrived. Luckily i just went over to another GAME and picked it up

Ok now that i have played the game through the campaign i can tell my opinion. Gameplay wise Resistance has turned into a shoot and cover game. Health is lost easily and not as easy to heal. I dont know if i was a noob but you die ALOT. At some times it turns into trial and error gaming and really frustrating.

Story wise (And this is where im most pissed off) theres no real explanation to what has happend over the past 2 years and why the Chimera have done what they've done. Lastly the ending is once again a cliff hanger (worse than Assassin's Creed IMO) and alot of the gaps need filling. I think ill have to get a bit of reading done on the intel i've recoved from Solo and Co-op and hope i find some answers.

Well i think that raps it up. Bring on December with PoP and next year with RE5 and GOW3

    What a great weekend (sarcastic)

Well my weekend was destroyed thanks to some guests from Queensland invading my house, well not all of them just the little girl. i know we were all like that one day but OMG i wanted to strangle her. She asked so many questions and god forbid she watched me play Bioshock and then the questions would not stop.

On saturday i was actually glad i was going to work just to avoid her. my sister kept her entertained while i was gone but once i came back all i wanted to do was chillout and finish bioshock on hard. but no, my sister had to go to work once i came home so i was left with this girl alone in the house, nightmare.

luckily enough they left on sunday morning and i felt so free i woke up late and went with some friends to the movies to watch How to lose friends and alienate people, Top movie btw had me in stitches. Did a little shopping and bought the whole Indiana Jones collection on DVD (i wanted Blu-Ray but sold out )

after goin out i was met with the realisation of how much school work i had to do. so once again my happiness was extinguished. Lets hope i get a better weekend this week.

Advanced English and the Resistance 2 Beta

Well today i had my double period of english which is like having a pinecone being shoved up your ass. Does anybody really incorporate the WHEEL (form of answering english questions)

Well Miss Wood other wise known as Big W had a good go at me for not incorporating it and in the end i created a WEHEL, close enough if you ask me well atleast i dont have to do another double period for 2 weeks so thats the brightside i guess.

Onto to a gaming note im playing the Resistance 2 Beta (Thanks to Nintendo_Man btw) and im a little worried with some things that i dont think will be fixed up (since its probably shipping across America right now) such as the fire effects, i mean c'mon the fire looks like a big ball of light and very easy to catch eventually throwing me off combat to shake my controller then get me killed, GREAT. Also the weapon pick up is a little clunky but its not too noticeable. On a positive note the Co-op is really well done and competitive Skirmish is awesome.

Thanks again to Nintendo_Man i owe you one.
