    The End Has Come...

"There are those who said this day would never come.  What are they to say now?"

-- The Prophet of Truth, Halo 2

It only took me a few days to complete Halo 2 and after seeing the ending, I was hungry for Halo 3.  I already knew this would be a long wait before I heard anyone heard anything at all.  There would be rumors from various people, including Microsoft itself, about the game, most of which I would just let slide as a rumor most likely made up by someone trying to rile up some controversy amongst the masses.

For me, it only mattered what Bungie said.

And now they have said it.

One year and a half after the release of Halo 2, Halo 3 has been announced.  The trailer certainly is something to be excited about.

For those of you who have not seen the trailer, you should not read the rest of this entry as it contains spoilers.

The earth is conquered by the Covenant and have found the Ark.  Cortana appears to have been corrupted and is speaking very omniously about our future.  And the Master Chief stands in the African wastelands watching as the Covenant fleet gathers around the Ark...

    I'm psyched.

    Good and Evil

I've been playing Fable: The Lost Chapters for a few weeks now remembering how much I actually enjoyed the game.  I just like the free-roaming and making choices.  Sure I could easily play GTA, but I feel there are no reasons for me to play as a good character. I guess it's the nature of that particular game.

I started off with a good character, however, unaware of a rather annoying glitch involving Hero Saving too often, I lost the character.  Really sucks too.  I had well over 2 million in gold.

Starting over, I created two different characters: one is good, the other is evil.

Man, being evil is tough for me.  I guess I get over concerned about how the NPC in the game react to my presence.  Maybe I just like being loved.

Still, I guess I'm not being evil enough yet.  I often get praises from the townsfolks yelling, "That's my man, Maleficus!"  I thought the title would have at least had people making way for me in fear and respect.  Guess there's nothing in a name anymore.

Haven't progressed all that far yet.  I want to actually finish this game and see all these things that other people post about like this Jack of Blades character.

    No Sniping Skillz

Recently, I have been attempting to beef up my sniping skills in Halo 2.  This was brought on by a couple of triumphet shots that I made on Xbox Live.

    1. Map: Ascension
      Game: Team Slayer

With the score 49 to 49, made, the opposing team made a mad rush at our position.  From the small tower, I managed to take out the lead man as he fired at me with his battle rifle.  Excellent game, even if I did not make that kill.

    2. Map: Lockdown
      Game: Team Slayer

Not necessarily a great game.  My team was getting owned.  I was following a teammate who had just taken out the opposing sniper.  I picked up the rifle and was about to jump the ledge when one of the opposing team players jumped at me with a plasma sword in hand.  I was pretty sure he would have had me, but I managed to squeeze off a shot off from my sniper rifle (unscoped, mind you) that sent him flying backwards.  I guess it was simply a matter of who could squeeze the trigger fast enough.

One of my buddies has been trying to train me in the great art of sniping by having me play in various Team Sniper matches.  Quite frankly, I find myself extremely tense playing those games.  You never know that while you're quietly strafing, searching for targets, you suddenly find yourself flying backwards as you hear the shot that took your head off (This happens quite a bit to me.  I'm surprised that it still bothers me.)

Most of the time, I feel that my kills were just a matter of luck.  Sometimes I happen on a guy standing around waiting to find someone to put in his scopes.  One guy was doing this and I sniped him from less than a few feet from him.  Very few of my kills, I feel have been out of sheer skill.

But I think if I can master sniping, it will improve my skills overall.  A friend once told me that if you can master sniping, you can hit just about anything with any weapon.
