  New Phone!

  So, my friend finally got his brother's girlfriend's Tilt, so I got his Blackberry Pearl! Replaces my lowest-model Razr that can't even play music and has a broken screen, so I was excited, until I realized he failed to keep the driver CD. So if anyone has Pearl 8100 driver software, please lend me a hand.

  Still have to get a co-op for this term, hopefully have an interview on Monday with Orion, applied to Lockheed Martin a while back, still haven't heard anything. Delphi called, but they wanted me in the middle of a school term, so they said they'd call me back right about now if they needed anyone this term, hopefully Bose, Gaurdian, or Magnetic Technologies take a look at me. Heck, Icould go to Borg Warner, where I worked my first co-op term. A lot of stress to find a job for 3 months.

  Other than that, it is finals week, so I have 1 quiz and 2 finals to study for, a leadership memo to do, a work-at-home final, 8 chapters of homework (definitely have to get that from a friend), and a research paper. Not to mention packing for the 10-hour trip back to New York.

  So, games. Crysis Warhead is a b****. It's better than the first, no doubt, and better looking, but whoever said it was easier to run is a liar. I could run the origional at 1920x1200, all settings very high (XP modded ini file), and 2x AA. Warhead I can get it up to 1920x1200 with all gamer, some mainstream, some enthusiast, v-sync and no AA. And there are the occassional microstuttering problems, and I don't run SLI! Also very, very short, but what do you expect for $30. Haven't gotten to online yet, hopefully it isn't so full of, well, people from the first game.

  Tonight Dallas will (hopefully) shut up all the haters (yeah, right) and spank the crap out of Green Bay. Honestly, they are the one team left that can challenge Dallas in a game of skill (besides Philly), so I expect a very good game, as long as the refs don't keep blowing it like they did last game (whichDallas still pulled out).

  Spore playing has pretty much stalled. If I play in space stage I play for hours at a time, and I don't really have that kind of time right now, so unless I'm messing around in a creator I'm either working or playing something else.

  Prison Break is back and, personally, I like the direction it has headed, even if critics don't. House premiered last week and was fantastic, if a bit "what do we do now?". True Blood is also a great series. For those of you (like me) who don't have the luxery of HBO, use surfthechannel.com, a completely legal free video streaming site, to see the first two episodes for free. Warning: very graphic content in True Blood, NOT for anyone under the age of 18. Stargate Atlantis is, well, Stargate Atlantis. You got one great episode, a few good ones, and the rest have been pretty mediocre so far this year. No news yet on when Reaper comes back (CW is starting to tick me off).

  If Warhammer releases a free trial, I'll do it and at least try to like it. Mount & Blade is out, or at least as much as an indie game can be. Check out the demo, and if you like the general scheme but not certain aspects there are plenty of user-created mods to make it how you like it. I can't say that any other game at or near release right now really has my attention.

  If you've been hiding under a rock, Google Chrome is the newest web browser on the block, and provided you don't go into any shady sites and have a backup browser for placing online orders (security issues, it is partially based on Safari after all) it isfairly excellent. Itdoes have some issues (I hate to nitpick color) but is still currently my browser of choice and can't wait for the final build (it is in beta) and plug-ins to come out.

  10/10's, Spore, and Unforgiven III

  First off, my game 10/10's: Metroid Prime 2, Gladius, Fire Emblem 7, Age of Empires 2, Heroes of Might and Magic V

  Now the movie 10/10's: The Patriot, Gladiator, The Shawshank Redemption, Iron Man, and Die Hards 1, 3, and 4.

  Week one of football is almost over and I can't decide which was more beautiful, Dallas' whooping of the Browns or pretty boy Brady's knee going *pop*. Overall, I'm psyched for the season.

  Spore. I'll save that for a later time, unless of course you beg me .

  College is still going well. Latest Calc quiz was a group test, so I can't have done too bad on it. Statics was just FBD's, so easy as cake, no lie. Unfortunately I found out that, while we have no more Chemistry meetings, the prof wants our homework e-mailed to her (haven't started), a 2-4 page paper, and a final by e-mail.

  Parents now know my intentions and are fine with it as long as I get the financial portion of it sorted out, as they hate co-signing for me.

  And Oh, yes. The track Unforgiven 3 from Metallica's soon to be released album Death Magnetic is on Youtube. Befre you go to watch it keep one thing in mind. While this may be an awesome ballad it is by NO means an Unforgiven. The first one was awesome and the second only improved on it, but this one takes the melody and anything else musically and throws it out the window. The lyrics could work but the song itself just doesn't belong. Then again I laid out a long list of critizisms for Brawl and even though all were true and valid people still loved the game simply because it bore the face of the series.

  The next episode of Prison Break is on in an hour. While the premiere night drew a lot of criticism from, well, critics, I loved it as did all the fans I know. To me it actually seems like it could be the best season yet (except it will be the last).

  Rightous Kill comes out on friday I'm looking foward to it. Don't know what else to say except watch the trailer if you haven't.

  My 10/10's

  So I got posed an interesting question today, what movies would I give a 10/10? I had to think about this, there being many movies I have seen over my lifetime. I have come to this conclusion, there are 5 10/10 games I have played and 7 10/10 movies I have seen. I'll let you guys guess which.

  Football (and by correlation Fantasy Football) start this week. wish my 4 draft & trade, 2 salary cap, and 1 pick 'em well! Go Big D!

  Spore is also released on Sunday, so my time will be split between that and the Dallas game. Unfortunately, I releaszid that because I broke my DVD drive when I put in my new processor a couple months ago (plastic part of SATA connector pulled off when I unplugged it) I need to buy a new one firs, so that's $20-30 (unless I go blu-ray, which is around $150).

  Next week is 9th Week at Kettering, which means this term is coming to a close (finals are 11th Week). I still don't have a co-op lined up, and I definitely will not take 2 consecutive terms off, so I have to start looking for companies real hard now. Even if I don't get picked up by the end of the term I still have until 5th Week co-op term to get a job and get credit for it.

  That's about it. Still haven't told my parents I am joining Beta Theta Pi, but that's only because my dad is upset with my tuition and is telling me to tell the college to up my aid or threaten (and follow through) transferring. I'm pretty sure this is just his device to get me to go to a New York college, which I wouldn't mind except my grades are up and I like where I am here. Once again, please pray for me here.
