Games we would love to see
This week has been a week of rediscovering the old franchises of the games I played the glorious day that I got my PS1 back in 1997, those games mainly included Parappa the Rapper and Oddworld Abes Oddysee. Both of these games are fantastic but niether seem like they will have any further itterations. I do encourage original IP's however none of us can deny that we have certain franchises we are fond of and would love to see return but chances of them coming back are close to nil. Imagine a PSN Parappa the Rapper with downloadable content every now and again or the third in Oddworld quintology actually coming out (yes I am aware of the supposed movie). Im not alone am I? anyone else got any franchises they would love to see return? anyone read this post even?

The Insomniac and Naughty Dog Ties: Can we predict Naughty Dog's Next move?
To those whom it may concern this is a post pondering the future of the much loved Jak and Daxter franchise, I myself have been a massive fan of the games since the original's launch in 2001 and have followed the series ever since. The question is what is to become of the series now that Uncharted has been developed by Naughty Dog and a sequel has practically been confirmed however not citing a direct release leaving us to ponder over what Naughty Dog's next project will be. Lets look over the facts and speculation and see whether we can come to any conclusions.
Firstly, as mentioned before Naughty Dog has stated that they will be continuing Uncharted as a franchise but haven't stated any details niether have they to my knowledge, said that they are infact working on Uncharted 2 at the moment. This of course leaves the door open for them to make a new Jak game and one can't be blamed for assuming this as the company that has the most likeness to Naughty Dog, Insomniac, released their new franchise Resistance: Fall Of Man in 2006 and then reverted to making a sequel to their older franchise Ratchet and Clank for 2007. With a history of both doing the same sort of things as eachother it is a possibility that we will be hearing of a new Jak game sometime soon.
Evan Wells has also stated on various occasions that alot of the company would love to make a new Jak and Daxter game some time in the future and has also stated that they would like to do something different with the franchise. As well as this Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier was patented a while back but no news has come from it and I'm personally unsure that this is any proof of a new game. Finally in another interview with Evan Wells he said that Naughty Dog would like to continue with Jak and Daxter but prefer to work on one franchise at a time implying that they may not be copying Insomniacs trend.
Overall it looks like we will be seeing Uncharted 2 next, probably by the end of this year which is no bad thing at all as Uncharted is a truly brilliant game which definatly lives up to the companie's name. However there are a lot of us wanting to see a return from our favourite duo in the near future and so, however amazing Uncharted 2 will be, there will always be some part of us crossing our fingers for a much anticipated annoucement.
