  Trophies, Firmware, and Friends oh my!

  After all the dust has settled I can say I am satisfied with update 2.41, and I am increasingly confident in my PS3. Sure Its not everything at once but it's what I need now.

  Just in game messaging, and adjusting/connecting my bluetooth headset made my PS3 76.984673% better (not an actual statistic) But in all seriousness these features were long overdue, and I didn't really know it till I had them. The in-game music will be nice but only for sports/racing games, because replacing mood setting, story forming music in most single player games would be a travesty.

  I was definitely hoping for alot more trophy activity from the start considering I don't have super stardust But trophies aren't a big deal to me yet, as once again not a feature I'm accustomed to or immediately desiring. But I know its coming.. And I know I will be hooked. I really just want retroactive trophies for the sake of not having to replay 50+ hours games..

  I wasn't expecting 100% XMB access nor do I need it for that matter. Just exit the game if you aren't playing it. I mean besides quickly checking an online strategy guide, Do you need to view your pics, movies, explore the internet WHILE STILL IN THE GAME? No just exit out and come back if you must. I mean c'mon.

  The last firmware addition I am glad to see is the friends list moved from 50 to 100 friends, so any of my fellow gamespotters that are not already on my friends list please add me on the PSN ( PSNID = R3S3T_R33D ) so we game together and compare trophies and whatnot.. Or at least comment your Id if you wish to be my PSN pal for life, Shake and bake buddy!

  It's crazy how many locks there are in the PS3 board today, Oh well I now have GTA IV so all my free time is going to be devoted to the best video game I've ever played, And I can HONESTLY say that after only playing for 4 hours. Straight. Too bad I have to work at 5am or I'd be playing till I passed out! GTAIV Game of The Year 2008! Calling it out right now. Now I sleep.

  It's a good time to be a gamer.

  Call of Duty 4 filled the void between Oblivion and GT5 Prologue quite well for me. I never expected I would get so much replay value from COD4, but I think most of us know how that one turned out.. After earning the Gold AK47 and Gold M60 and therefore refusing to proceed past prestige three, COD4 was losing some of its intrigue, then new maps come out and my interest is fully rekindled.. Too bad GTA4 is coming out soon... (Never, ever, ever thought I'd say that)

  Not to mention my recent aquisition of a PSP slim With GTA Vice and Liberty City Stories.. I'm also very soon getting FF7 Crisis Core, Patapon, And Castlevania Dracula Chronicles to temporarily complete my PSP collection.

  And some exciting personal news is that I may be lucky enough to get my hands on a PS3 copy of GTA4 tomorrow via an inside connection *crosses fingers*

  With so many good games to play right now and so many promising titles on the horizon, its a good time to be a gamer.
