I briefly mentioned in my last blog that I seem to have secured myself a writing gig. I honestly don't know how as I have never really pursued the writing thing, I have always preferred to read other people's output.

Any way, I aside from a few news pieces I haven't really done much, but this week I had my first review published. Eeek! If you want to check it out, linky... any constructive criticism is appreciated *cringes in anticipation*.

I've never sat down to play a worms game, only played around with a demo here and there but good review. :)

I've never played a Worms game before, and that review was obviously written for people who already know the series, so I was a little lost at times. Other than that, very well written. I think you've got a future in the games review business ;)

 @johnsteed7 You never played a Worms game before?  WHO ARE YOU?  Thanks for the comments though, I will definitely bear in mind.

And I don't know about a future, just a bit a fun at the moment, am still trying to make my millions elsewhere :P

 @wavey_gravey Who am I? Someone that doesn't play games that are focused on multiplayer.

Millions, eh? Herbalife must be more expensive than I thought....

 @wavey_gravey I've certainly learned to hate multiplayer more during these last few years, but I've never been interested in games that are only focused on multiplayer. Why pay money for something that's only fun in a mode that you're not going to use?

Meh, never played it ever?  Have you always been not keen on Multiplayer?

And no Herbalife is very reasonably priced, (besides I am not sure you can put a price on your health).  I am just working hard to make my millions at it :D

that was an excellent review and it brought back some fond memories of a fun game

Wait, you played Worms on a CONSOLE? You dirty HEATHEN!

Anyway, what I played of Worms: Revolution was quite good. The last really good Worms game was Armageddon back in 1999. Everything since then has been...pretty bad. The move to 3D was not kind to that series. There are still things I don't like about Revolution though, namely the class system and how much they mucked with the old damage amounts.

Oh, and do yourself a favor. Sign up for GOG, then buy the Interplay (http://www.gog.com/interplay) bundle. Great introduction into the wonderful world of classic PC games. Do it. You know you want to. You've already started playing Minecraft on the PC.

 @raven28256 Yeah I played it on console, have to say it did feel a little wrong LOL.  I am writing for an xbox only magazine at the moment. :D  And as for moving to PC gaming really not going to happen any time soon.  I play Minecraft on my Laptop and it really struggles to render... just not going to be upgrading any time soon.  Need to make my millions with my business first HAHA

 @wavey_gravey

If your laptop can't run any of those games in the bundle then I'd question why you are still using a computer from 1992. Actually, I'd question how you are even able to fool around on GS with a computer that ancient.

 @wavey_gravey

 That's kinda my point. The most recent game in that whole bundle is from 2001. An six year old computer from a retail chain that wasn't designed for gaming is more than enough to run 99% of the games on GOG. The site is a great way to ease yourself into PC gaming because most of the games there are old classics that don't need a dedicated gaming machine to run.

Oh, and I get on GS to see it is all borked up. What a surprise...

 @raven28256 My laptop is about two years old and was cheap.  It was purchased to support my work activities really, not gaming.

Very cool WG :) It was well informed and just the right mix of "professional" sounding with a personal touch. Congrats on the gig :)

My brother is a fan of the Worms games. Myself, not so much. Good review though, I checked it out.

I liked it!  [Reasonably] accurate grammar and everything!

 @s_h_a_d_o Yeah I have seen a few things after it was submitted, I might edit TBH.  I am not entirely sure that the editor "edits" before posting live.  Who knows.

 @GunnyHath HAHA you are welcome.  The game is definitely worth picking up IMO, especially if you are a Worms fan.

Never played any of those games, but your review was well written and a good read :). As SadPSPAddict said, keep them coming!! (I expect a review on Assassin's Creed 3 when it comes out :P).

 @Wren28 HAHA Well I will have to see, there are more established writers there who will get dibs on the more popular games, but I will try :D

Congrats on getting a writing gig. Hopefully some great things come of it. I will send you a little constructive criticism to your Gamespot inbox.

 @Gen_Warbuff Oh really?  I haven't seen that there is a post waiting approval?  I think you have to sign in to Wordpress to get it to work and thanks x
