    Stalker: Clear Sky first impressions

Well, i've had clear sky for a while now, but up until patch 1.505 it would crash after five minutes of gameplay. well, now it works fine, and here's what i think so far.

When it works properly, the game is fantastic. Random firefights breaking out all over the place, brilliant enemy ai trying to outflank you in gunfights, and all manner of random encounters with mutants and the like. it looks fantastic after i've done some tweaking to it, and never runs below 40fps. it does, unfortunately, have some bugs. it still does crash occasionally, sometimes the ai will go off and do my objectives for me, and when i try and change the resolution in game it goes crazy.

overall, i really like this game so far, and i hope there are more patches released in the future to fix the bugs.

My new PC is up and running

Well, i'm finally finished building my new pc. Specs: CPU - E7200 OC'd to 3.15ghz.

    mobo: ASUS P5QL Pro.

    Ram: 2 gigs ddr2 800mhz pc 5300.

Graphics card: (will be replacing) ATI HD 3650.

    HD's: One 160Gb, one 500GB.

    OS: Windows Xp sp3

so yea, i've tested it with a few games, for some reason my crysis disk isn't working properly, but i've tested it with Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, it runs very well at max settings. Trackmania Nations: Forever runs well at max settings. those are the only games i've tested so far, i'm still trying to get crysis to work.

the CPU overclocks amazingly well, staying cool oc'd from 2.53ghz to 3.15, never going above 45 degrees celcius. my 8600gt didn't wan't to work with my new mobo, so i borrowed a friends old ati card until i can afford somthing more powerful. the card does suprisingly well though, and should do me just fine until i can save up some more money. the only new parts i payed for are the case, the cpu, and the mobo, and the ram, all of which i got for about $350 canadian. not to bad, eh?

Death Magnetic/ Burn after Reading reviews

Well, i have been exposed to two formes of media awsomness, first in the form of music, then in the form of a movie. i'll start with the CD.

Well, it seems Metallica is done sucking and has released another great album. i'm not saying that it is as amazing as the golden first 4, but it's still really good. the instramentals are simply fantastic, starting with broken, beat and scarred and blasting their way all the way to the day that never comes where your ears get half a song worth of rest before your launched back into one of the best instamental sequences metallica has ever produced. the most notable tracks (in my opinion) are the day that never comes, which is an attempt by metallica to write another fade to black/ sanitarium/ one syle song, and the rip-roaring pumped up All Nightmare Long that has a super intense machine-gun guitarr intro that lasts a couple of minutes. Hetfield sounds a bit older, but he's still putting out some pretty solid lyrics, especially in The Day that Never Comes. This is a must-buy album for metal and metallica fans alike. 8.5/10.

Now on to the movie, Burn After Reading. now i really, really like the movies that the coen brothers direct. they remove the element of predictability and replace it with an element of excellence that is seldom seen elsewhere. The movie is toted as a comedy, and it certainly delivers on that front, with some of the most hystarically funny moments i have ever witnessed on screen. But this movie is more than that. it's a comment on stupidity, on the views of the lower iq citizens thoughts of what goes on high up in the government. This is also one of the most emotionally conflicting movies i have ever seen. in one scene, a man is brutally murdered with a hatchet. then without slowing down or pausing, it launches into a comedic scene, where you are in a state of shock from the former but already laughing at the latter. Overall, this movie is brilliant, but i would not reccomend it to everyone. it contains some really grissly moment, and might offend some viewers. but i freiken loved it. 9.5/10.
