    Walkthroughs

Well, the only Crystal Defenders guide on the internet has just been completed. In case anyone happens to read this, you can find ithere.Just for the hell of it, all of my guides can be foundhere.I dunno what to write next; probably something for an RPG.

And since I'm posting a blog, I might as well talk about what I'm playing.

Final Fantasy V: 10 hours into it

Jeanne D'Arc: 1.5 hours into it

    Killzone 2: Multiplayer

I've only beaten FF1, 2, 7, and 10. This is why I'm playing my old FF games I haven't touched.

I really want to get started on my next guide, but I'm looking hard for a game to write about. I'll update this whenever I get around to it.

    Robocalypse!

Released on November 18, 2008, I've actually just gotten to playing Robocalypse now. I picked it up recently, and after playing the first few levels, I'm pretty impressed with what I've seen. I've always seen the DS as a great platform for RTS games, and Robocalypse hasn't disappointed me yet. I'm not going to write a review until I experience the whole game, but here's what I've noticed so far:

    - The controls are very easy to handle, however, all units except Heroes (if you've never played an RTS before, these are your powerful units) need to be given orders by placing action flags around the map. To move soldiers, for instance, the player would need to touch a soldier, then touch the action flag button on the touch screen. From here, he/she can then touch any point on the map (or enemy, if you're ready to attack) to move them. It works, but I'd really like it if the player could move everything the way he/she can move Heroes; I think the point and click system works very well.

    - The AI is competent. Sometimes it would take a little too long for my units to get to the action flags I had laid out, however, the units were never too far behind. The enemy AI is also good, though it takes the enemies a few seconds to shoot back once you start doing damage.

    - Gameplay is familiar, yet well balanced and fresh. I could certainly tell that there was some effort put into making the gameplay accessible to everyone, not just RTS vets. There are only two resources in the game: metal and batteries. This alleviates some of the complexity found in other games where there are too many resources to control all at once. Builders automatically harvest resources upon their creation, so it really feels intuitive and fun. Soldiers will attack any enemy units that come into view, and capturing control points was as easy as simply being next to the point with no enemies around.

I'm really looking forward to experiencing more of the game, and I'll post my updated impressions as I progress through the missions.
