This is what I am talking about

Diablo 3 Tyrael for LG Rumor

This isn't missing that WOW factor!

maxim3.bmp

However I like Diablo 3. I find it enjoyable and fun to play. Even though at times I feel like I am still playing the 1st or 2nd title. But i don'r believe the title warrants the beating it is taking by some gamers and also some critics.

But it's not the game it could have/should have been. It is simply missing what I call the "WOW" factor. I shall explain.

What distinguishes a great game from a good game is the WOW factor of the game. Some have it -some don't.Final Fantasy VII had Aerith dying and being absorbed into the lifeforce Gamers still remember and talk about that today. And about how they felt when it happened. A WOW moment. FF VIII had no WOW moments. And in the day it was considered as good as VII. But time has a way of setting things right and today FF VIII is largely a forgotten title.

Usually the WOW moments occur as part of cutscenes. Sometime not-and sometime a little of each. In Modern Warfare 2. When you are climbing the rope to get to your ride--that's you. But the explosion of the and the bombing seconds later is not you. But that was a (say it with me) a WOW moment. The ending was not one because, face it, you still did not get the Russian!!!

Bioshock and both InFamous titles have them. Anyone remember a little game played with pistols in Black Ops?

But I have yet to see on e of those in Diablo 3. This is somewhat annoying. I loved the Butcher fight in the first Diablo. (Easy if you had a bow. I can do it taking no damage) And whilw the Butcher is harder in Diablo 3 I does'nt "WOW!!". The first did!

Peace out Keep it real!

I believe your points are perhaps the best presented. Or close to  it. We change, the gaming industry changes, but in the end a game will still be a game but we will have changing our likes and dislikes. We will either evolve or de-evolve. Perhaps you are right about the game being good for youngsters but not for those of us who are considrably older.

Had this titl ebeen done by the original team, and sooner to the release date od the 2nd title. Not 11 years later, things may have been different. THat team knew how to get a "WOW" factor! There are beautiful moments in this title, and it is fun.

   Just not fun enough!

I played the Demo up the end of the first act...it was fun but it doesn't do that much for me.  I heard that it can be completed on normal in about 12 hours so any replay value from the single player campaign must just come from replaying it on harder difficulty levels.  The multi-player element to it doesn't interest me because i don't have the time to devote to it and some people's lives will revolve around this game ( and I have no interest getting schooled by people who have already put hundreds of hours into their character / gear).

I think this game is more of an example where I have outgrown the game as opposed to Blizzard having necessarily done anything wrong.  Many people who are upset with the game are probably like me who were in high school or younger when when the original came out.  Times have changed and online play has changed gaming significantly.  Perhaps if I was still a kid I would enjoy this game more but instead it just makes me nostalgic for the original Diablo.

I'ts also lacking the ability-to-even-play-the-game factor. :P

@Foolz3h I hear that one also. And I hear it a lot concerning Diablo 3. So I understand your sentiments.

Well I think that  WOW moment differ from one gamer to another , Bioshock is one of the few FPS?s I admired but to me no ? wow?  moment same with Infamous as much as I enjoyed playing that game but no wow moments everything was expected even the ending was kind cliché to me, see that?s what I?m talking about that WOW moment for you it might not be WOW moment for another. To me it?s hard to find that WOW moment because I played tons of games and everything is kinda expected to me, or that moment was not emotional enough to reach that unforgettable place in my mind  or heart , but I have had that moment before with a few titles, like FF VII story like moments, and FF VII Crisis core story / cinematic like moment  , MGS 3 gameplay/story/twists / everything like moment, MGS 4 and Peace Walker the same.

See that WOW holds different meanings from gamer to another, I?m still under meds right now but I think you?re smart enough to get my point lol

Oh and those are some naughty pics you have thereXD

zinoalex
zinoalex

@matastigOh they're not naughty(maybe they are)(Ok--yes they are but it's Victoria's Secret) . They are just meant as eye candy. Besides a little beauty is good for the soul.

I believe the more games one plays the harder it is to be impressed. thus the harder to get a "WOW" moment. The beginning of INfamous 2 where you have to fight the beast right noe is close one. But the ending od the title is lame. And I have found that most of the WOW moments don't come as game endings. Some do, some don't. MW2 no!

But as gamers likes and dislikes vary i believe your assessment is spot on! What one considers to be great another considers to be passe.

A lot of times whe gamers feel a sense ofloss for the maion character or characters in the game ins when a WOQ moment will occur. Because as a gamer it will touch you. Not a gamer. Just another moment.

Keep recovering my friend. And continue tio inprove each day.

it a beautiful Summer outside and there's a lot of living to do!!!

a lot of games are fun to play but very few really have what you would call that wow factor

zinoalex
zinoalex

@iowastateTrue But the nes that do gamers remember and speak about for a long time to come. I had hoped that given all the years pf development this title has had that there would be thay factor in it. Perhaps if the original team had worked on  it?

Adria's daughter has a bit of WOW moment.. I think in Act 4.  I still prefer D2 to D3, but both are good games.  Oh Adriana..   btw your last pic is topless.. Might want to censor that (Not that I mind personally).

@GunnyHath That act may come the closest. I'll give heed to your "noticing"

diablo 3...saw a funny video for it :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxOPo8g02ts

@kairikh I watched the video. Funny. but way to much anger. Some nice chamomile tea with a room scented in Lavender and Vanilla would calm these toads down. Maybe a little matching pillow stray to go with that.

I do like it and I'm not going to beat it up. Like too many have. It just could have had some moments in it that made the gamer staop and say--well, you know!

Gorgeous chicks. But I enjoy watching them in action on certain sites...if you catch my drift.

I'll probably pass on Diablo III, despite having a laptop that can run it. I'm done with contemporary PC games that use DRM. Nonetheless, glad to know you're enjoying it.
