After being damaged? Nope.
If you're cornered, try an EMP or a cigarette to buy you some breathing room.
You can still boost during the AR, before the cooldown hits, BTW. At first I didn't realize that.

Im boost dodging until he pauses and shioting weak spot...i keep getting hit by stuff I cant see. Im niit exactly sure how to avoid I frames...im getting hid mid dodge too much. I took a break.

Listening is important as well. When he fires the cannon it makes a distinctive noise first so you can boost -> dodge or get behind cover to avoid it.
If you can find an angle behind a piece of cover to aim and shoot at the weak points on his front legs with the AR or HMG without using ARS mode, you can then run over to one of the gun turrets, quickly finish off a leg in ARS, and then hop on the gun turret and wreck the core.
This only works with the front two legs, but you can destroy most of the core this way. For the back two legs I find it easier to go back down to the first level and shoot the legs with the shotgun. (Also IMO the easiest way to go for the legs in the second phase.)
Be patient, this is a perfect example of a boss that's very hard at first but becomes pretty easy with a little experience.

. I am only dying after the QTE part, when I have done a massive amount of damage to the bipedal form. It seems like its always some random shot or a grenade getting kicked my direction. I got close alot of times, the bipedal form is freakin tedious! It will feel good to take it down. It's my first real day playing towards level progression. I value the advice greatly, thank you.

Honestly, starting on Hard might not have been the best idea. A lot of people do that with Vanquish for some reason lately and it's not the best est of ideas. Vanquish is pretty much sensory overload at the start, so starting on Hard makes it even harder to stay focused.
But for the Argus:
* Bipedal form: use ARS mode with the Heavy Machine Gun (HMG) to aim for the red orb on his head. Even on hard this should kill him in about two full ARS modes. Don't overheat and boostdodge back and forth behind cover to avoid any things he might be throwing at you.
* Standing form: when his limbs start glowing yellow, grab your trusty HMG again and shoot at them. Stay on the move working your way from the most left to the most right of the stage. When he falls to his knees, mount one of the turrets and fire on the central core.
If you're lucky and your aim is dead on, you only need to tries with the turret to kill him.
It's like Murphy said though. The boss is hard at the start but eventually is cake once you know how the game works.

Learn all about your character, Sam has enough skills to do well through the game. Learn to react fast against situations and always keep different weapons for certain situations. I always carried a HMG and was the first weapon I fully upgraded due to its usefulness. If your AR is damage triggered then take cover ASAP and NEVER let it overheat. Also, boostdodging is a lifesaver.

Kicked the first ARGUS ass. Felt good! Little minions are just fun to deal with now. Disk launcher makes me feel like Krillin hahaha. Starting to feel comfortable with the controls and boost dodging into AR mode. This game is so amazing!
