In all the years (Since launch) I've played WoW, I enjoy this game more in the mere weeks I've played it. Yes, I LOVE PVP.

lol did he just scare the cameraman off in the end?

Nice review, I do agree that the PVE content is a bit lacking here and there and quests and just a nice thing to gain experience with while you wait for a Battleground queue to open up. The Realm ratio is a bit unbalanced and they probably should've made a player cap per server per realm. But I'm sure ratio issues will change in time and hopefully more players will join the forces of the order to balance it out here and there.

Just to give my opinion on my experience with the game... Notice much of the people below with tons of opinions have NEVER even PLAYED THE GAME. Come on. Hahah. I was very, very skeptical and mostly bashed the game. I was once one of you! I can tell you that this game is a lot of fun. After being suckered into Age of Conan, what a breath of fresh air this game is. If you are afraid of PvP you really shouldn't bother with this title as the PvE is more side dressing than a primary focus. RvR kicks ass. Give it a shot.

Exray: low server population? Fast queues do not indicate low populations, they indicate active players wanting and ready to get in. A truly low server population would mean you'd be standing around forever. It's like that at weird hours, such as 5 am, on my predominantly North American server. Not sure what server you are playing on, but mine is definitely populated except for odd times. The rest of what you said is accurate. AS for the video review, dude, can you at least *pretend* you aren't reading from a piece of paper?

I'm coming around on this game.

A guild you can pvp and pq with or at least a steady group is REQUIRED, not recommended, but required. The Order PQs on my server are always deserted so you need friends you can call on to take them down.

The pvp is good and with the current low population the wait times for pvp scenarios are next to nothing (2mins or less). Your character is bolstered to an appropriate level for the pvp scenario you are in so if you are lower level you can compete with people up to 9 levels higher than you. It makes for a pretty good balance although lack of healers will kill any pvp group (obviously). Even better, you can loot downed enemies in pvp and end up getting items well above your level!

Pretty fun indeed if you're into pvp. Pve seems pretty underpopulated so it's hard to say.

I'm planning on trying it, I've never really been into Pvp.
I can always cancel if I don't like it, before the 30 free days are up.

It's what I did with Age of Conan.

i can't help thinking that if they had made this using the warhammer 40k franchise it would have been even better not to mention the fact that it would have separatd itself so much more from WOW

I think it's better to pay 15 bucks a month for pvp than to pay 15 bucks a month to face computer enemies.

A very fair review. I must say that the whole RvR focus did make me hesitant to ge the game and i agree that the game does feel a bit empty when you dive into the PvE; I personally started feeling a bit lonely with how scarcely i saw/ ran into other players but as far as content goes Warhammer has it in generous amounts. I got the game stoked to go all Black Orc crazy but now I can't stop playing my White Lion. I'm hooked.

pvp is not my cup of tea. although i am a huge fan of warhammer, i am still unsure if i will purchase this game. the characters look perfectly suited, and the world seems quirky and cool in the warhammer fashion, but i would have to judge the game on it's combat, considering this will be the main part of the game.

Overall, this is a great game. I love it. Personally, WoW got so boring I wanted to tear my eyes out so seeing this game and realizing how much it does well is fantastic. Also, one thing to keep in mind, this review didn't really take into account any of the end-game content that WAR has to offer. Also, as a side note, don't act like WoW's questing is great. If there's one thing that game has in spades, it's repetition. Do yourself a favor, drop the 50 on this game and try it out. It's worth it.

I would say about the PVE vs PVP in this game is this. I never saw my self as a big PVP guy and it almost kept me from getting this game. That would have been a big mistake. One thing the game does very well is make PVP fun. Also just about every reveiw I have read has tried to explain just how great the Public Quests are and still have not done them justice. They are alot of fun as most can be done alone up untill the final part where you will need more players for. That said you are always gaining renown which is great, which makes it feel like you DON"T have to group which is nice.

The game has problems which the reviewer talked about and others have talked about as well but every MMO has those. I will say this I think the next MAJOR update will say alot about this game.

It doesn't seem worth 15 bucks a month to pvp.
I'll look back at the game in a year once it's had time to improve on what it doesn't have (I don't blame them, there's no way they could release this game within the next decade if they tried to match wow in good solid content).

unbiased review.. period.. u cant deny it, RvR aspect is awesome and is its strongest point. But u cant deny either that the questing is shallow and the crafting is horrid... for every 1 salvageable item i loot, i get at least 20+ seeds lol. Also, He's also right about servers feeling empty even though its queued.. thats cuz almost evry1 is out doing scenarios. I myself dont mind this happening, RvR is where its at but thers one thing WAR has over WoW in terms of questing, and thats 100% quest drop rate. No more boars w/out hearts or raptors w/out heads.. anyway, good review, love the ending.

I don't see how any of you can compare wow game play to war game play, we need 3 years of development into war before you can compare them and i'm sure with that much time war will be developed into a much much better game, wow was way worse on release. And you cant complain about the gfx, have you been in an end game city siege with 100+ people shooting off spells and crap, not to mention alll the npc's as well. The review is pretty accurate tho imo.
If you can look past all the small problems it's an awesome game and it is patched pretty much every day so all the little bugs are being fixed.

I've only played it for 3 days, but this review seems pretty accurate. Everything directs you towards PvP/RvR, even the PvE quests, and it's hard to resist joining in when you get there. The crafting professions are very underdeveloped, undocumented, and unbalanced. I'm up to level 9 and my bank is full of seeds but only 3 or 4 salvaging items have dropped, so I haven't even been able to create my first talisman yet. Overall, PvP/RvR is where it's at, since you earn XP and renown simultaneously.

haha, funny ending, but I really don't want to try this game, I think my love affair with MMOs came to an end several years ago, everytime I pick one up these days they might keep my playing for a couple of months, if not less, and pvp was never my favourite aspect of WoW/EVE Online etc etc

On the wrath beta, and after seeing this it i have no interest in going for Warhammer. I believe that Warhammers pvp probably surpasses WoW. WoW pvp is too unbalanced atm and warhammer seem more accessible. What is turning me away is the graphics. They look horrific. Its a pity though i did want to try Warhammer, WoW currently caters to losers and not the millions of casual players that support it. If you have a life and don't have 80hrs a week to dedicate to pvp and dungeoning, you will get blown away by the people that do. Wotlk is an important step in the right direction, as the dungeons are fun and fast. With the upcoming tuning down of pvp gear though, it will return to a system of raiders vs common folk. Which sucks. I hope Warhammer does well.

Warhammer Online is for those who wan't to PvP. It is Warhammer... its always been about war, and they way they present Warhammer Online makes WoW PvP one lame duck, where skill matters little because its all about how hardcore you are. Warhammer can be picked up casually since RvR is it's focus, and gear is not hard to come by. I have a love/hate relationship with WoW, and Warhammer has so much promise that right now I cant even think of ever going back, even with WotLK comming out in Novemeber.

I was thinking of getting this game until watching this review. Don't get me wrong, it looks like a great game but what he said about the PvE content being overshadowed by the PvP stuff doesn't suit me very well. I'm not a big fan of PvP, I'd rather group for quests or instances/raids. I'm just not a PvP minded person.

So I guess I shall just stick to WoW cause it offers more of what I want from a game.

He is not biased said sole questing was lacking and that servers sometimes still feel empty all true. Also pointed out great pvp variety and public questing. I think that he gave an excellent and non biased review. If you wanna see a biased review check out that 10 that GTA 4 got. Also WoW fanboys make me laugh. Oh and he is right crafting is also kinda lame in the game.
