MMO developers. You must have an addictive, enjoyable, playable game. All of Blizzard's previous games fit that criteria, and it's the reason why the original Starcraft, Diablo and Warcraft games are still played to this day. Polish the game enough before you release it, don't start polishing after release, all the reviews will be bad; make the game as perfect as possible and you'll have people playing for years. Edit: Lol, so this is where Zaeed went.

Check out this trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Milleinum Online from TGS 2010.
The fact that there is neither new video nor pictures to update since September 2010 is rather telling in regards to the state of the game and THQ's funding problems....
Looks straight out of the Dawn of War series. While I love those games, I'm not sure that I would be willing to buy a clone. The graphics look straight out of the 2004 original DoW.
Just me or it look too mutch like Dawn of War video? Should't be an MMORPG? Or just using DoW graphis till real ones be up and running? BTW also still no new videos since 2010?
it's going to suck, just like space marine and every other warhammer 40k games. exept dawn of war but you con't compare an rts with these games
I wish I could believe otherwise but it's gonna be a disappointment. I imagine it will be like WAR which, somewhat tanked pretty hard. It won't live up to what a 40k FPS MMO should be. Lots of races, tons of variety of characters, lots of weapons/gear, vast worlds/regions to battle over etc.. It'll be a reskinned WAR =/ Just add guns and robots.
@kain1202 yeah they should be. space marines have tac marines, devastators, apothecaries, captains, terminators, and so on. they would really be missing out if they made the space marines only tanks
@valentineheart well, you consider those graphics bad idk what to do. ha im glad it was a "lazy cash in" so my computer could run it. hopefully ill have a new comp by the time this one comes out tho
Oh, wow, you can play as humans in this MMO? I thought this was going to be another Eldar and Ork only borefest.
In my personal opinion, it looks like like it uses the same engine as Warhammer 2 which was (IMO) a lazy cash in off the fan base and an insult to the IP. But looks aren't everything, this game could be great if they do it right, and it doesn't look that bad.
In my personal opinion, which means you shouldnt try to defend this game by giving me a thumbs down but judging from this video, LOOKS HORRIBLE((((( FAIL )))))
Wtb a tyrannid warrior with a brood of genestealers, termegants, and hormagaunts at their command. Also wtb an inquisitor with a enslaved demon who can level city blocks, all the while crying in agony over the pain of its psychic chains lashing it to its master. Take your time Vigil/THQ. This could be epic if you don't blow it.
I hope they make the SMs more then just tanks, they are the greatest soldiers in the galaxy, after all.
hmm, i dont know but the i think the voice narrator for this was Robin Sachs, who voiced Zaeed Massani, in mass effect 2 and other games as well, i could be wrong, but just sorta sounded like him
@Shanks_D_Chop Id rather they lift their other engine and kick the game out in 2012 opposed to scratch building one and getting the game out in 2014
As long as Tau or Chaos, specifically Nurgle/Death Guard because I'm sick and tired of Khorne, get introduced as playable at some point I'll be happy. I'll have to keep my eye on it as more information gets revealed.
@ CrazyMetalHead0; It's always possible that you'll be able to customise your own 'paint job', as it were. If that's not the case, though, I'm fully with you. As a longtime Templar player I'll be very disappointed if they stick with the grey and red rather than the traditional black and white. Though I can't think of them now, the grey and red theme they are sporting is alot like a different official chapter. That aside, I'll be very interested in this if they can pull it off. Never done an MMO before but this might be what turns me. Little offput by the DoW2 graphics though. Not saying the graphics are particularly bad, just seems a bit cheap to steal another games engine like that.
@CatAtomic999 Well now let's be fair here. The Imperium of Man is just what they're painting it in this -very- early release trailer for the game. For all we truly know they may very well have the Imperial Guard and all other unaugmented parts of humanity as a different choice. But we'll see then won't we?
What reminds me of warhammer lore the most is all the diffrent species or adversaries, PLEASE incorporate more then just orcs, humans, and chaos! Tau would be kick ass in this game, a very melee tyranids would be neat, necrons, eldar, OH MY! Point is hopefully theres lots of different groups to choose from if not now later in expansions or something
It seems like they're using a few signature archetypes from all accross the Imperium to cover "Man". I know Space Marines are part of the Imperium, but it seems to me that in terms of gameplay, they should be treated as a separate sort of sub-faction or something. A Space Marine group should be all marines, an Imperial Guard group should be all Imperial Guardsmen, etc... one group filling all the needed roles.
love the trailer but i have a feeling that it will be ending up looking like a revamped version/warhammer version of richard garriots Tabula rasa which means either 2 things. it will either suffer the same fate as tabula rasa or they will get it right where they got it wrong any will be all happy
