E3 06: Fire Emblem burns for Wii

At Nintendo's pre-E3 briefing, the company tipped off that its highly acclaimed strategy role-playing series is headed to its next console.

LOS ANGELES--As part of a game reel showcasing a slew of games headed to the Wii, Nintendo showed the first footage of a new game in the Fire Emblem series. The very brief snippet seemed to consist entirely of an anime cutscene, so nothing resembling gameplay was shown. However, the footage contained brief scenes of a young man fighting for his life in close quarters, and also showed a female character with a sparrow alighting from her outstretched arm. It's reasonable to suspect these two will be the protagonists in the game.

The Fire Emblem series is known for delivering richly complex stories and challenging turn-based battles. Stay tuned to GameSpot for more information about Fire Emblem for the Wii.

    Actually, it said in Nintendo Power that it's a sequel to PoR, That Sothe is the main Character, and most of the old characters don't even show up.
    And coming out a while after that is the new Final Fantasy Tactics game. I just hope it's more like the original than it's lame-ass Gameboy Advance counter part.

    A. Awsome, im SO looking forward to this along with KH number 4/3 and a *speaks in the trumpet of prophecy, people, and the will of the light* new golden sun. B. Cool_Bannanas... it left a HUGE opening for you to confront alex, with your smal shard of power, the one shard of power that can beat him, GS3 would be about your journey to defeat him, using all 8 members, probably 2 more, or at least one, a earth mage and a wind fighter are what im looking for. C. I cant make out new hero, and dont trust wiki, it is made by normal people (i mean dont trust on things like this), but im hoping its Ike again....or his son or something... ike was incredible, cool, and actually STRONG, the like, firt lord to be so, at least in american ones, and i dont mean OK, i mean strong. D. I DO wish that they would blend turn based with live action... u know, like maybe use turn based on outside screen, and actual movement using Wii mote in combat, so stats arent the only thing that mattered, so YOUR skill in combat would also be involved. If you have read all this thank you for reading my opinion,

    Hmm from the looks of the only pic for this game it looks like this game will a sequel to Path Of Radience

    my one complaint about these games is that they go into the separate screen for battles. im pretty sure it was only done in the beginning so they could show more detailed battle animations, but its a dated convention now. all the action should just happen on the battlefield. they are great games though.

    The girl is named Mikaya ( or so it said on Wikipedia ) and the thief is Sothe. Sothe is still a thief, and Mikaya is a new class called a light mage. And there are still laguz in the game (Yay!)

    Golden Sun on DS? The end o lost age didn't really leave room, u think it's got different characters? Anyway, who do you guys think the chick is. I think she looks like Ilyana from PoR. It's kinda weird, the two worst characters from that game are the main characters in this game.

    Just to let Mr. IronBass know, in the Japanese ones 1-6, of course, (we started at 7) 1 and three followed each other, with 1 being remade as the first half of three. 4and 5 follow each other, and 6 is after 7, chronologically, 7 would be a prequel, as 6 has Roy, Eliwood's son.

    He looks like Sothe from Path of Radiance. But I don ´t think he is Sothe. The Fire Emblem games usually haven´t characters of other FE. Or maybe this one is a secuel of Path of Radiance? It doesn´t matter, this game will rock!

    The main character is Sothe from Path of Radiance. Kinda weird to have a theif for a protagonist, but at least we know this is a PoR follow-up.

    wowo i cant wait for this one all the others were amazing so i will have high expectations for this one
