World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria User Review
- Difficulty:
- Very Easy

- The Bottom Line:
- "Been there, done that"
First off, my mark may not be accurate because the only gameplay I have had has come from a free trial of 10 days, since I cancelled my subscription several months ago.
But having played this game for nearly 6 years since Vanilla gives me enough insight to review this expansion to conclude that the game is completely obsolete.
There is no reason to keep playing it, and even less with a subscription.
I'll talk a little bit about my experience with the expansion (the little I had, I admit).
Firstly, I will point out what I found the best:
The soundtrack. It is a pleasure to the ears as always. I really love the oriental style in classic Warcraft songs. It fits the theme of the expansion, yes, but it is a great soundtrack nonetheless.
Another thing I really liked was the new pet battle system, or "Pokemon battles" like many people call it. I think that it gives another dimension to gameplay, and for a game like WoW, with streamlined quests and retarded enemy AI, it makes playing more fun than before. It is optional, but in my opinion it has been a great addition.
And then I'll talk about the bad:
The horrible things that Cataclysm introduced have not been corrected. The worst of it is what I will never cease to mention: Extremely streamlined questing. I think we all have had enough of that kind of gameplay. Good for the 1st time, but after that is boring as hell. The same mistake as cataclysm. Bad enough that they do not learn about their mistakes.
Concerning character models, the new panda looks detailed, as it should be. However, old character models look really outdated, from 20th century. I still don't understand why the hell do they think they are going to offend their loyal players by updating the models. Only god knows, I have no frekkin idea tbh. Or maybe they are lazy as hell to update it.
The new talent system. This is what, in my opinion, has killed MoP. People may want to say whatever to criticize the old talent system and how it led to cookie cutter builds, but it was the only thing that gave a levelling character the sense of progression. Eliminating it has been a terrible decision, and something that wasn't needed. Definitely a result of their failure for not creating enough variation with talents. Anyway, there is nothing left now about that. The system has been replaced by a specialization system that gives you the abilities required for the spec during levelling. And at 15,30,45,60,75 and 90 levels you can choose between different options for combat, but lets be honest, those "talents" are aimed only to 90 level players for raids, pvp and dungeons and barely make any difference in gameplay. Since you can change them whenever you like, it is a retarded illusion of customization.
As a result of this talent system and specialization choice, combat is boring as hell. Be prepared to use the same rotation forever and ever when you choose your spec. And do not expect enemy AI to improve, because it is retarded as always. I remember the good old days when enemies fled when life was low. Now, not even that. Combat phases for bosses don't count as AI, for god's sake.
Cities as Exodar, Silvermoon, Thunder Bluff and so on, as usual, are empty. What a surprise, don't you think? Again, something they seem to consider intended, to have dead cities.
I am neutral about Pandaria and the Pandaren. I don't really care, tbh. I know the world will never be the same with pandas in the middle of raids along with draenei, elfs, humans and orcs, and I would never play one pandaren character for sure, but I don't consider pandas the problem of this expansion. I am all for new lore, as long as it is consistent with the world. I understand people being disappointed with this though. Concerning the monk as a new class, it seems to be a nice addition, but not enough.
All in all, the same mistakes as usual, and even more mistakes. I gave cataclysm a harsh 2,5. I will give MoP a 3,5 since I have played only a trial, but otherwise it would be the same. I will not play more, for that I am sure, since the game doesn't have the quality I expect for a subscription mmo.
WoW MoP is not worth paying a subscription fee anymore, and you are blind if you think otherwise. I haven't mentioned any other mmo's which are F2P, it is not worth it. I know what WoW brings and what not, but I am sure that the quality has disappeared.
To Blizzard, you should hear my advice: Bring back quality and forget about quantity. Bring back gamers to WoW. Stop thinking about money and start thinking about making great games. You are losing quality because of your blindness about income, trying to please the most people as possible with retarded gameplay and you are forgetting about developing good games.
TL;DR: Bring back quality, or F2P.

A refreshing world with various things to do for every type of players. End content is disappointing though.

New content, same drawbacks. Quite attractive for new players but routine and not enough innovative for veterans.
