World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria has been the bear-butt of jokes and a source of outrage for the World of Warcraft scene ever since its announcement. What was Blizzard thinking, and how did the fans react? Justin Kardi ponders these events… IN SONG FORM.
Anyone who thinks Mists of Pandaria is a disappointment or that Blizzard "sold out" clearly just hasn't played the game. I've been a huge fan of WoW ever since Vanilla, and so far MoP is Blizzard's best expansion yet.
Heh heh, everyone is saying this is Blizzard directly giving the finger to their fans. They ought to think that because it IS, they couldn't cater to anyone in Cataclysm, they don't give a crap what the community thinks anymore, obviously, and why should they? Its a statement of "lets start from ground zero and build public opinion from there". But I am pretty well done defending Blizzard, still love their games and play them consistently but with the disappointment of Diablo 3 and how long it has taken to roll out the next SC 2 "expansion" my fanboydom has been punched in the jewels.
@lannyboy334 Diablo III was great; if you thought it was a disappointment, then Diablo III just clearly wasn't for you. And the next Starcraft 2 expansion, Heart of the Swarm, is already in beta. Blizzard built Starcraft 2 for eSports, and will release it accordingly.
well he is saying smth make sense In fact Blizzard lost a lot of money a lot of fans because they didn't make difference from the old versions smth new for their fans .,
The second fact that Blizzard didn't support their game with dialogs and players are somehow sick of reading their missions !!!!they made a new theme for WOW I was looking forward to play this game after it release but not anymore
@dorotadrozd Blizz should sue Dreamworks. Then they would have the mo for dumping resources into updating character models.
@dorotadrozd never because Blizzard has had Pandaren way before that shitty movie.
Say what you will about Blizzard and this ridiculous expansion, but they can still make some badass cutscenes. They should just start making animated movies.
@Subterfuge You mean the cut scene that had a panda stopping a fight between an orc and a human? The cutscene that basically says "hey guys...let's not fight" in an MMO designed and named WARcraft?
Yeah nothing made me roll my eyes harder than watching that craptastic new cinematic from Blizzard.
@EarmitesI didn't say the writing in their cinematics is good, I said they look amazing-and always have.
All I see is a bunch of pointless posts filled with the ever-present "haters", for lack of a better term. The fact you still come on the Internet to leave a post about just how much you don't like WoW and Blizzard and quit umpteen years ago only proves that stick in your backside is still there. CRIPES. Move on.

After thinking about it for a couple of minutes, I decided I hate the video more than I hate Mists of Pandaria. Godawful song.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Warcraft 4 is the only thing that could possibly restore this franchise.
Also can't wait for the Crazed Gnome Mech race expansion where they do such bold things like *gasp* raise the level cap 5 more levels! FIVE MORE LEVELS! CAN YOU NOT FEEL THE ELATION?!?!
Preach it. Once upon a time Blizzard was a great self-made company that made wonderfully innovative and enjoyable games, but those days were gone quite some time ago. The pandas are almost a comical confirmation of that fact. You sold out Blizzard, I hope at least you're enjoying all that money.
@jmefford Once upon a time blizzard was silicon and synapse, and released a slew of terrible games.
Have you played the expansion? I am not a wow player, however looking into the back story the new expansion provides, along with the new art, and scenery in general it is actually some of the best work on the game.
@x-TwilighT-x @jmefford Blizzard's days as Silicon and Synapse were great. The "slew of terrible games" they made were actually ports for other people's games at the time. And to be honest, the majority of those titles were pretty good. Their own games however, were great. Lost Vikings and Blackthorne were fantastic.
@x-TwilighT-x @jmefford I hope you realize that isn't saying much. The only thing WoW ever did for MMORPGs is homogenize the formulas every other game was using at the time. It has since continued that trend. With that trend came a recurrent pandering to a very indolent, immature audience. MoP only shows how much they catered to them. It's nothing special. If nothing else, it at least showed gamers with half a brain that Blizzard wasn't quite the "superb" developer they claimed it to be. That tanked the day they went public with Activision.
@Jarek_Cyphus @x-TwilighT-x @jmefford So all the people I knew since the April Fools joke back in 02 that said "Fuck man I thought that was going to be the race for WC3" and also the people who played Vanilla WoW and were like "Man I wish Pandaren were in the game" Are now irrelevant because you can't stand them? Grow up, either don't play or stop bitching its really that simple.
I have never played WoW and don't plan to, but I have one question. What up with the dancing Panda's? Was that just done for this video or does that actually happen in the game?
I couldn't give a flying chi kicking ***k about the panda's. The expansion is good though and it's re-lit a few old flames for me. I'll carry on playing it until I've seen and done everything that's grabbed my attention again.
contrary to all these comments, it's still going strong... Servers full again with queing times and it still isn't free after 7+ years. :D
This is so ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6bFMelJZlw !!!They should make warcraft 4 instead of making more and more stuff for WoW
This is one of those videos that either goes on to become a meme, much beloved by its respective community, or it falls completely flat. In this case I think it missed the mark, despite being quite a catchy tune.
Come on guys...
Haha i love Francis!!!!
Anyway is it only acceptable to have anorexic women in Guild wars 2? Or a disturbing race of 12 year old girls in Terra who Kevin Van Ord called "HYPER CUTE" in his review? What the hell is wrong with Pandaren? They like Beer, eating, chilling out and kicking ass!!!
MMOs are all about community. There were people in the wow community that wanted to see Pandaren and Blizzard communicates with its community. They almost made Pandaren a race in burning crusade which came out before Kung fu panda. This is subjective of course but i believe blizzard loves the wow Community, its the main source of income for both Blizzard and Activision. :)
Also do you mean to tell me that there were no developers on Kung Fu that Played Warcraft 3 and knew about Chen Stormstout? Some of Blizzards art predates the Dreamwork rip off. But then again there's also Panda Kahn from TMNT which predates all of this... great expac, love my build, having fun!
I never really concerned myself much with WoW or it's community, as i've never been a part of it.
But geeez, first they have to put up with that pandoria nonsense and now they're getting mocked on top of that by that song.
I DO feel for the WoW veterans who can only stand by and watch what is becoming of their game.
I'd be gutted !
I keep reading the messages like GS made this video or support it, but I feel like they just now discovered it and decided to share it. This video is pretty old, I mean if you listen to him he says people are leaving WoW for stars and the soon to be released GW2. Meaning GW2 wasn't even released when he made it. Also means he had the same conclusion as everyone else but The game did sell like a million copies or so the first week out. Thats not cata good, but a million sales in roughly a week is still good. Anyway now that my trolling is done I can go back to watching TV....
