- Jan 18, 2013 2:34 am GMTMy query as everyone gets really excited over this news is why he is the only one reporting this? Not one other website has reported anything similar that I've been able to find.
I wouldn't get excited over one guy's twitter. I'm sure WWE has a way out of the contract with THQ. A company that large would have plenty of lawyers who would make sure they had one and I wouldn't even doubt that WWE has been eyeing other publishers. But anything more than window shopping at this point seems like a pipe dream.

Playing: Skyrim. WWE 13, Final Fantasy 3. FFXI
Waiting For: GTA V, FFX HD, The Last of Us. - Jan 18, 2013 7:59 am GMTIt's probably for the best. The sheer number of bugs even post-patch is just sad. It's still a fun game and I'm enjoying Universe mode but a new publisher will mean a fresh game and hopefully a better one.
What would you like to see in a new WWE game? - Jan 18, 2013 8:04 am GMTEa doing the game could be good. I haven't played them, but I heard they made good strides with the UFC games. Also, the facials scans that have been leaked for the new UFC game look awesome, and would be a big improvement over what they have now. As long as they keep a community creations or roster share program in the new game it will be fine. Plus I feel like EA would put more effort in with arena's and such, which could bring more classic arenas.
Also, the "game face" option they have for Madden could be tweaked to allow more realistic facial renderings, thus improving the quality of community creations. They could even make the CAW funtion available online, like Create A Team in NCAA

Romo- Better than your quarterback (especially if ur a patriots fan) - Jan 18, 2013 8:09 am GMTFirst of all it is totally bogus when people bring up games like Def. Jam Icon ect. The was literally 6 years ago. Every publisher or maker of games has A BAD GAME. I personally would love to see what E.A. will do. Look at the madden series and 2k series and the fight night series some love them some hate them but what they do have are loads of features, great visuals (madden dwarfs anything the smack down series has done.) and their career modes are always top notch.
I would love to see a my player type of mode brought into a wrestling game where you control one wrestler and try to take into the hall of fame I know previous games had it but just do it right this time. The one thing about a new company is we def. will not see the same game at all and I am personally very excited about the new possibilities. WWE 13 was supposed to be groundbreaking and really it was a just a little more polished than the previous versions. - Jan 18, 2013 9:54 am GMTlooking at a list, Non EA Sports EA hasn't done much besides Sims, NFS, and fpss

http://i50.tinypic.com/2nle5jp.jpg - Jan 18, 2013 10:20 am GMTWhat i'm hoping for is that EA don't bend over to WWE's demands like with the blood and stuff. I remember hearing that WWE have tried to have blood taken out of the past few games but THQ would get angry and refuse.

As long as an even better Universe mode returns along with all the customization we have and a community creations type system is carried over/implemented I guess I could deal with EA being the publisher.
I'm sure trading created wrestlers would continue (EA MMA had that, so it wouldn't be a completely new thing for an EA game), but Universe mode, and all of your other customization stuff (arena/finisher/story etc) would likely be gone if another developer had to start from scratch, at least at first. You'd probably see some of that stuff start to come back after a number of iterations.

His other tweets seem to point towards EA being the new publisher and doing development in-house (which would mean the end of Yuke's.) I guess we'll find out soon.
No, his tweet says that most of the people replying to him say they want EA to pick up the license, and he said that if they did, he thinks that they would probably move development in house.
He never even hinted that EA was actually picking up the license, or that they will for sure be moving development in house in the event that they do.

Xbox Live Gamertag: Mcmax3000 - Jan 18, 2013 1:52 pm GMTWWE14 is still in development. i wouldn't think otherwise until an announcement has been made. If anything WWE14 would be the last for THQ/Yukes.

They'll sell what they have, to whoever buys it and they finish it. Just like what's going to happen with all the rest of their games that are in development. They've got a few that aren't completely finished that are coming out later this year.
Look up Sleeping Dogs and see what happened with that.
Yukes and THQ are DONE. Atleast I hope Yukes is never allowed to work again. Or make a game that has anything to do with multiplayer. - Jan 18, 2013 3:23 pm GMTmcmax3000 posted...

That is the thing I think the the next publisher would have to be given what Yukes already has for WWE 14(if Yukes is toast also) or there won't be a WWE 14 in time for the end of this year.(new games take at the very very least a year to develop)
I wouldn't mind waiting longer for a new game if the new publisher had to have the game developed from scratch but I don't think Vince would be to happy about losing a guaranteed source of income he has always had for all these years. I also think it could hurt sales and confuse a large majority of the fanbase who are more casual gamers and don't follow gaming news

Actually sir, I don't want blood taken away. My apologies if my post weren't clear enough, but it would be nice if you didn't resort to calling everyone who isn't clear in the way they type dumb.

I'm pretty sure he just cited conjecture. Meaning he heard that WWE wanted to try to remove blood from the game. But the developers wouldn't bow to that demand.
He didn't say the product had to be PG. Reading comprehension is your friend.

If the information provided is correct, WWE would be negotiating on their own with another publisher. Unless that publisher then negotiates with Yukes to either develop the game, or buy their work, Yukes wouldn't have to give them anything.
WWE cannot make Yukes give up any of their technology to a new publisher.
Also, Yukes would not necessarily be done if they were no longer developing WWE games. I'm sure they would be hurt, but they are not owned by THQ, so THQ going under does not necessarily mean the end of Yukes.

Considering it's trying to simulate WWE, and WWE doesn't use blood anymore (except for rare circumstances), wouldn't it be more realistic without blood?

They don't exactly boast a successful game catalog other than the WWE games, though. So losing that franchise, though not necessarily spelling their doom, will hurt a lot.

You're assuming that everyone playing is trying to simulate WWE. However many do not, some are trying to recreate WCW, ECW, TNA, ROH, etc, etc, and so forth.
In which case, the blood is an important part of wrestling. There's an option to turn it off anyway, for those who don't care for it. So I hardly see why its inclusion would be an issue for people or THQ.

I would like WWE '14 as well because I think if THQ knew that it was their last game and they didn't have to save stuff for future additions they'd actually give us an awesome game
They had plenty of chances to do that. They shouldn't need to be going out of business to be motivated to put out a great game.
