FO3 is still my fav SP this gen but the Bioshock series is amazing I actually enjoyed the Minervas den DLC as much as Bioshock1

its a little dated now ( although still surprisingly can stand up to some of the best games around now) but bioshock is a really amazing single player experience, very atmospheric

Definitely in my top 5 SP this gen... but I'd put Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted 2 and the Mass Effect series above it.

It's good but I didn't fell in love with it like most people.
I played at least 6 to 8 hours of it... still not "hooked".

mass effect 2/3,uncharted 2,mario galaxy series, fallout 3,dragon age, skyrim and arkham city say hi bioshock had a great atmosphere and good story but the combat was pretty bland. you could beat the game with the wrench though ill never forget would you kindly.

the 360 has quite a few single player games with good stories.

Although it's not my favorite, I wouldn't argue calling it the best. Portal 2 could challenge it for the title.

    ^this.

Portal 2 is also one of, if not, the best co-op experiences this generation.

Although I disagree with both Bioshock and Portal 2 I respect your opinions none the less.

Not to derail but, did I miss your awards post?

I think Uncharted 2 was better but that's just me

And me, though Bioshock was excellent.

I still haven't played through a few major game series (Mass effect, Fallout[started, somewhere a third way in]) but Bioshock certainly left the biggest impact on me

I played Bioshock long before it ever came out. It was called System Shock.

    ^ How original.

Hmm it's one of the best FPS this gen, that's for sure. One of the best atmospheres this gen. But there's a lot of amazing games this gen. As much as people complain... There's awesome titles this gen.

While the game was good and all (amazing when it first came out), I wouldn't say it's the single best single player game for this entire generation.

Disagree. Max Payne 3 for SP story, Dark Souls for SP game.

Mass Effect, Skyrim, Dragon Age, Oblivion
    All much better

I wish I could see what everyone else sees in Bioshock. I bought it like three times already to keep giving it a chance. This time I am keeping it of course because to sell it, I'd get nothing. I got to the part where I had to take pics of certain enemies, and I was honestly bored. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the graphics for the time were great. I think what was severely lacking was in the actual combat.

    Definitely Top 3/5

Max Payne just surpassed it for me

Take a Ferrari. Pretty good car, but way expensive. Now let's take a Civic. It's an equally good car, but not as sporty looking-PhoenixPrince
