I give this game a 9 because its just so addictive. I spent 16 hours over the weekend playing with my wife on cooperative play and we could not put the game down. So deff a 9 out of 10. Now i will agree the music played when active in battle does get annoying and the world map is very large but regardless this game is a deff buyer.

I don't think you understand how logic happens.

What you're doing is separating games into genres. If games share similar mechanics or gameplay, they aren't considered oldschool; they are just part of the same genre.

That doesn't mean that there's no oldschool gameplay either, though. An example of oldschool gameplay mechanics in an RPG would be the first Diablo's inventory system. You were limited to only a few different equips when compared to the second game and even more limited when compared to something like Morrowind. Another example is how you cannot run in the first, but you can in the second.

So, all those games share the inventory and equipment mechanics and thus belong to the same genre, but Diablo is oldschool because of how OLD it's gameplay is. (don't confuse old with bad)

I'm surprised people still play games like this. It just looks so old school play style, but with newer graphics. But I won't completely rip on it because I've never played it.
