    Krome Studios really could've done a better job on the PS2 and WII versions.

    Gosh this version looks so much better than the Wii... and it's longer! Is the story different? All the levels looked way different, and not just because of graphics.

    Lol, it didn't take that long for me to figure it out seeing as they were shooting at me, but yes the trailer was misleading.

    by the point of the star destroyer scene i had been quite thoroughly mislead by the trailers. it took me ages to figure out that you had to stop to take out the tie fighters XD

  • Jecko750

    I agree with the camera system. Why can't it be more automatic? It will give some more input options and saves time doing a 180 degree turn around. The Star Destroyer sequence is also very disappointing that I stopped flinging barrels at the TIE Fighters and fried them with Force Lighting so I can quickly buy time to pull the ship down.

    He's pretty spot-on with this review, could argueably be an 8-ish if you get into the targeting easily. Why he said this story is better than Episode 1-3 is beyond me, 1. the emotion in the prequels is very underrated to begin with and 2. there's parts (although minor) of this story missing out or kind-of seem odd for the SW geek. There is quite a lot of fun in this game especially when you try to save the last guy in an area for last, that's where things can get interesting .

  • green_dominator

    All 6 films are good! the originals are great just because they are the originals. episodes 1-3 are good in different ways. anyways I've so far only played the demo and its freakin' amazing. it ranks up there with KOTOR and Jedi Knight and Rogue Squadron as the best SW games......

    What a generous score for an unresponsive bug-ridden heap of crap! I know I'm being a bit harsh but the whole thing feels like a work-in-progress to me. It's true that the story is the first truly deserving Star Wars installment since the original trilogy but I would have bought a DVD if I wanted a good story to watch. Don't get me wrong I like the direction the developers have tried to take the game, they just didn't quite get there. It bugs me cos since the game was announced all I've heard was how SW:TFU is implementing cutting edge tech like Emotion animation, Digital Molecular Matter and Havok physics, it'll be like "nothing we've ever experienced before". But once you've loaded the game up the animation although just noticeably more natural is still rather rough. Starkiller doesn't always do what you tell him to and I've seen more impressive physics in 4-5 year old games (Psi-Ops had similar gameplay mechanics). And what's with the googly eyes on all the character models? Or the no-go areas that scream "come over here"? How about the controls that don't do what you tell it to? It controls almost identically to Conan (not Age of Conan) and Beowulf, where certain animation frames last way too long and can't be cancelled with blocks or jumps and just leave you wide open to attack. Simply not good enough!

    For a game that has some of the latest tech it feels like, NOT looks like, a budget last gen title. Perhaps other developers should take note. Before trying to make your games all flashy and cutting edge get the basics right first like responsive controls, clear boundaries for players and menus that don't take 10 seconds to load. A disappointment. At best a 5/10 for me.

    @Brenton_2
    I suppose you're right in a way. It still remains an enjoyable experience if you can overlook some obvious shortcomings. The shortcomings were just more glaring to me as I expected much better from the promo hype.

    Although I have yet to play the 'Force Unleashed,' in most cases I usually come to agree with the ratings provided by Gamespot. I am curious as to why the developers of the game created a 'force' targeting programming based on the main characters line of sight, rather than the gamer. After all, the gamer controls, more often than not, what he or she sees during gameplay. I cannot, however, fault the developers completely. Harnessing the Force in a video game, I imagine, has been a dream for many Star Wars fan. It would be understandibly difficult to create the feel of the Force, given that we don't possess such a power in the real world. The imaginations of the development team could learn from this game, and may possibly get it almost perfectly right in another Star Wars game; which I hope may come in the not too distant future. 7.5 is still a good rating. When playing games with a similar score, I tend to do my best at working around the supposed 'glitches' or 'low points;' which I think is usually what all developers hope for in those who decide to rent or purchase their games. If I was able to enjoy having played "The Bourne Conspiracy," then I'm more than sure that there is a considerably good measure of fun to be had in playing "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed."

    I agree with the review, it's fun to play the first few levels, but then it gets somewhat repetitive. Visiting the same planets twice is a little annoying. The boss fights are fun, I especially liked the one with PROXY.. Overall, I'd say it's a decent game, but I just don't see a reason to play it the second time. If only it had multiplayer - unleashing the force on each other would be really fun.
