And the one you are talking about was complained until it was shelved for this game. it only just came back in development as a TPS.

i gotta say though, the TV commercials are false advertising. IT never shows actual gameplay, just in game cinematics. So theyre gonna get LOTS of people buying it thinking its some alien shooting action game only to find out its turn based strategy like Gladius only with aliens and not gladiators.

I for one cannot wait. I loved the old Xcom and any game that plays remotely like GLadius is a game I need to play, I love that type of turn based RPG namely because its not a super grid like Disgaea and you dont need to grind all day long cuz that ruins games for me.

To be fair I have seen many video game commercials that show cinematic shots and not game play. Recently Borderlands 2, World of Warcraft and Assassins Creed come to mind.

the one your thinking about is called Xcom but its being developed by 2K Marin and published by 2K has been delayed and at best will be out sometime from April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014 unless hit with another delay or something else

this game Xcom enemy unknown is being developed by Firaxis and published by 2K

simple mistake since the name is similar and the publisher is the same but Firaxis is responsible for civ (1, 2, 3, 4, & 5) and 2K Marin has made bioshock (1 & 2)

    Fixed!

Civs 1 & 2 were made by Microprose, the same company that made the original X-Com. There are several ex-Microprose guys at Firaxis, but they aren't the same company.

Bioshock 1 was made by Irrational Games, Ken Levine's company (which is currently working on Bioshock Infinite) ... which is kind of important, given the differing opinions for the two Bioshock games, so far.

(As a side note, it appears that Ken Levine, like Sid Meier, is a secret character, unlockable in Enemy Unknown, which is kind of fitting, since he's a well-known fan of the original game, and name kept popping up in rumors about bringing it back.)

Anyone with a brain would research the game first.
  • Oct 6, 2012 9:55 pm GMT
true.. but as you know, most people have no brains. lol Advertisers now this. people would see it and say "yo man that games mad chill" or whatever the kids say nowadays, buy it, hate it cuz it aint COD in space, and whine about returning it and call it mad wack. I for one LOVE this type of game and cannot wait to get it!
