That background looks like streamed animation. Reminds me of Microcosm. Not much of a game is it? I'd much rather play R-Type or Project X on my emulators.

Yars' Revenge is the only game I bought for the Xbox Arcade app... I can't imagine how much time I spent trying to go through the levels... it's cool that her shield has that same retro vibe.
I'm going to guess most people never even heard of the original, let alone played it, but at least two of us remember it lol
I remember the original Yars' Revenge on Atari it was one of the hottest games on that console.
