Your post got deleted because you tried to ruin the game for others. Anyway I think this time you are getting banned. - Nov 12, 2012 8:55 pm GMTreported him, almost read his comment.
He posted the spoiler again!

This is for hidden doorway and of course 999 spoilers will be posted.
Here's what I know based on the 999 wikipedia page.
9 persons woke up in a boat and they have 9 hours to play a game and there's 9 doors. In the true ending you understand that Akane and her brother(?) set the second nonary game so Junpei could communicate with young Akane in the past to give jer the solution to the last puzzle so she could escape the boat.
So now that I know that, other than being attached to the characters, am I missing a lot of rhe core information to play VLR?
I know I won't be able to know who's who as far as returning characters, but is it a bad thing since the first playthrough of VLR seems to be about who can you trust and really not knowing them would put me into the protagonist shoes even more, no?
H, Yotsuba, Cradle, Ice9, possible reference to Free the Soul, someone's brother, some other odds and ends.

Both post were the same, I will resume playing VLR knowing it was fake spoilers and if it ended up it was real spoilers thank you my friend for trying to help me enjoy my product. - Nov 13, 2012 12:53 pm GMTFKRW4Life posted...

Same here, I don't want to play 999.
Hell if it was remade for the Vita id probably give it a try. I just dont want to play it. Why is that so hard for these guys to accept.
Same here. Maybe I would play 999 it if it were on the Vita, but I don't want to buy a DS just for one game so I'll pass. - Nov 13, 2012 12:55 pm GMTBlinkWinkel posted...

999 could NOT work on the Vita, unless they decided to work a split screen something or other onto the Vita.
It just wouldn't.

Official Hype-Person of the Little Busters Anime - Nov 13, 2012 1:53 pm GMTNice to see everyone so buttflustered don't worry the "spoilers" were far from the truth. They told me Gamefaqs was bad, and I'm not even in the cawadooty board!
Since apparently Iphones and tablets are perfect for these types of games, think they might port 999 to Ipads and the like? I hope not. - Nov 13, 2012 3:35 pm GMTThe only way for 999 to work was on a DS. Unless them iPads start running around with two screens, not gonna happen.

Anticipating: Atelier Totori Plus, Virtue's Last Reward (somewhat, already platinum'd) - Nov 13, 2012 9:57 pm GMTIm going to try to hopefully help here. I played through 999 on the DS and I played VLR on the Vita while my girlfriend is currently playing through VLR on the 3DS. They could make 999 for the Vita and it would work. The only scene that they might have trouble with would be the final sudoku scene, but ultimately the two screens mostly make it easier to explain whats happening, its more symbolic and not absolutely crucial to get the plot point across. It may lose a little flare but again it's not game breaking to not have the two screens.
So you've never played 999 and you don't intend to. Thats fine. It is true you would get a certain higher level of appreciation if you play 999 before playing VLR. It's along the same vein as if you played Chrono Cross for the PS1 if you've never played Chrono Trigger. It's not absolutely necessary to play Chrono Trigger to play Chrono Cross, but you do get a bit more enjoyment (And not to add more games to your backlog, but Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, two excellent games that you should play if you haven't). The truth is it's a certain level of fanservice that makes the game more enjoyable.
I would have to say to go ahead and play VLR, its a great game with a terrific story and not having played 999 wont make it any less great. The Gold files and the true ending do spoil a lot of 999. If you happen to decide to play 999 after finishing VLR, you won't get the same level of enjoyment out of it. It would be like reading the book Lightning by Dean Koontz (Great book if you like Time Travel stories), if you already knew what happened at the end. You still get a great story, but all the twists and surprises are less impactful because you know how it turns out. Playing VLR before 999 will make 999 less impactful, but in the end if you do decide to play 999 one day, you will still enjoy it for the wonderful story that it is, full of fun room escape puzzles like those in VLR.
Also, at this point in the games lifecycle, there is no shame in emulating 999. The game is hard to find and even if you do buy it online, its not like the money for it is going to the creators or publishers, you're getting it second hand from someone who apparently didn't cherish it enough to hold on to it and realize it for the shining jewel that it is. There are a lot of games for the DS, but by far 999 is possibly its best, next to Chrono Trigger.

Yeah true, the emulator's the only option I guess. Someone else also suggested that in another topic, I gave it a try and wow it was so easy to set up compared to the PSP emulator. Thanks, after reading a lot of comments it seems to be better if I play 999 first so I'll do that. - Nov 15, 2012 2:16 am GMT9 people are kidnapped and forced to play a game. They're to group in 2-5 people and pass through numbered doors. Their bracelets had numbers 1-9 on each of them. 2+7 for instance could enter the number 9 door. 1+4+6 can enter the 2 door and so on.
Clover in VLR has been in two previous Nonary games, this one is her third.
Alice was found outside the facility where Junpei (you) and co. escaped. They were told they were on a ship when the game started, but it was just a facility in a desert.
The person who was Zero (the one behind the kidnappings)was Akane, someone who with the help of her brother saved herself by having Junpei solve a puzzle in the future and transmitted it to her past 9 years ago. (She never died)
The whole game's purpose was to save Akane and punish those who were responsible for the original game 9 years ago. The man with the number 9 bracelet and number 1 bracelet were responsible for the first game. The number 9 man was killed and the number one guy was taken for questioning.
Junpei spent his life looking for Akane after the incident.
Clover is a psycho *****.
That's about all you need to know for ZE..., but seriously. You need to play it, stop being so annoying and find a way. - Nov 15, 2012 5:39 am GMTRED_LINK1 posted...

Official Lopunny of the Black 2 Boar . . . wait, how did THAT happen?!? - Nov 16, 2012 12:13 am GMTWell, I'm not going to tell you to not emulate the game, but I suppose I should mention though that apparently Aksys games has restocked 999 for the DS on their website for $20. As I do see the game being worth the $20, it is harder to justify the purchase of a DS just for one game. I remember being on their site the other day and it was out of stock. I guess with people finishing VLR, there must be an increase in people wanting to try 999.
In all honesty, if I were in your shoes, having never played 999, but kind of wanting to play it but didn't have a DS, I would emulate, and then perhaps when I had the disposable income to purchase said game and system I would, just so that I could have the physical copy in my collection.

I hope you're all happy and if anything you should all give me me some money for the way you treated me just for asking for help. Now my massive backlog has another game.

Vita Flopic creators = schadenfreude
Legit discussion on sales = intelligent debate - Nov 19, 2012 12:57 am GMTThanks guys for convincing me to play 999 first, you were right it was worth it for sure!
It clears up a bunch of things about Zero Escape too. It's definitely best to play 999 first (minimum two endings, safe and true end)
