So...one thing that's eluded me from the start (major spoilers)

What exactly is virtue's last reward?

It's a double meaning to try to match the Japanese title that can't be properly translated, as that title is actually two completely different phrases with the same pronunciation.
It's meaning alternates between an actual reward for virtue, or virtue getting its last reward (death).
. . . at least, that's what I think they said it was.

The Japanese title could be read as "Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die", so the translators wanted to extend that double meaning with "Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward", which could be read as "No Escape: Virtue's last reward is death" and "Virtue's last reward is escape from Zero"

I notice with most of my life that, whenever someone actually agrees with me, it's always worded almost like an argument . . .

To elaborate on the "that meaning can't be translated properly" part of the deal: Zennin Shiboudesu's other meaning is "I want to be a good person".
