Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner Special Edition User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 10 Hours or Less
- The Bottom Line:
- "Amazing"
Pros:
The game improves on all of the lacking aspects of it's predecessor. The graphics and art design is top notch with slick character animations, and hand drawn anime cut scenes. The draw distance is impressive and the FPS remains smooth and steady. The voice acting and general presentation of the story is top-notch, where I connected with the characters and truly understood their motives. The game has a good length - not too short or too long. The controls are responsive and let you do what you want easily. The difficulty settings are well balanced; normal feels normal, and hard feels hard.
Cons:
Really pushing it here.....the manual aiming system is a little unconventional and requires getting used to, but it did not distract from the gameplay. The game is also a little linear, and there were a few repetitive levels. These make the game short of a masterpeice
Overall notes:
You can really see Kojima's involvement in this game, in terms of gameplay and storytelling. Some would say that its "MGS in mechs". Slick addictive combat, well told story, impressive art design make this game a "must-play" for the ps2 (reviewed 2011)

On this note, I'll conclude Zone Of The Enders: It's just not worth it.

This is how an anime style mech game should be made, not to mention that improvements over part 1.
